Well that’s me stuffed then.
Bacon roll at Duxford yesterday, one at the local garden show this morning, followed by another for lunch. I’m doomed….
This is the aircraft which previously flew as a long-nosed Mk. IV (G-BPIV) and had a landing accident at Duxford in 2003.
Can still remember that day well. It flew over my house in Melbourn sounding like a right bag of spanners….:(
Well done to all involved. Great stuff….:D
Brought a couple goodies from their sales stand at Duxford on Saturday. Have to say, what a bunch of very polite gents they are. Some of the other traders could take a leaf out their book in how they treat their customers!!
Well done guys, was a pleasure to buy some “Vera” goodies…:)
Circumstances prevented my attendance this year but I would have been there Bernard Chabbert or not. I was never bothered by his eccentric commentary but I am aware that many members were very irritated by him. Odd but each to his own!:)
IMHO, he’s part of Flying Legends. From where I was parked, you could hardly hear the commentary anyway.
Due to poor line up because of the weather, think I’ll give tomorrow a miss.

Legends wouldn’t be Legends if he wasn’t commentating…..:highly_amused:
Apparently there was an issue with visitors being unable to resist the urge to fling themselves in front of site vehicles at Duxford, which lead to their withdrawal on safety grounds.
Wasn’t exactly hard to miss though, was it. Should of stuck a ruddy big cow-catcher on the front….:D
IMHO, stuff Syria. About time this country started looking after it’s own people instead of sending aid to counties who don’t get off their backsides to help themselves…..

Must be getting a deal on shipping containers – buy two, get one free….
Is that why Snafu hasn’t left yet, send ’em all off together?
Great news Jim. Addenbrookes oppo theatres was my place of work for 16 years. You could of had a forum member smiling down at you when you woke from your OP…..:D

That explains why I couldn’t see the Canberra last time I flew over. The local paper (the Royston Crow) was reporting that up to 2000 Libyan troops are going to be trained there in the near future! As the base is supposed to be closed I wonder how that’s going to work?
All the “clubs” that were based on the airfield have now moved out. Apparently, even the golf course has shut!!.
Noooooo.:(
What will TFC get to replace her?
Best wishes Jim. Behave yourself with those nurses….:)
