I think I can recall Kermit a while back saying although the MkV is being restored to airworthy standard he was in two mind s as to fly it or not I suppose it’s the same with any rarer aircraft restoration as whether or not to fly it the same thing was said to me by Fred Panton many years ago when I visited Just Jane on a regular basis through my work. He said it fine getting her airworthy but what if it has an accident then we have lost the aircraft.

Watched this truly moving at times film you can understand some of the hate from the coloured community in the US after this dramatization of an event in US history, well worth watching……:eagerness:

In 1965, an Alabama city became the battleground in the fight for suffrage. Despite violent opposition, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (David Oyelowo) and his followers pressed forward on an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, and their efforts culminated in President Lyndon Johnson signing the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Here’s my effort for today FW-189.
Top and centre: slightly blurred but rather interesting photos of a Focke-Wulf Fw 189 A twin-engine tactical reconnaissance aircraft performing a low-level fly-past for the benefit of an unknown photographer.
Bottom: detail enlargement of second photo reveals what is likely a yellow fuselage band, along with hints of the aircraft’s markings. Camouflage appears to be standard 70/71/65.

Here’s a not to busy image by one of the best in the business, ‘The Last and The First’ painted by that master Roy Cross who’s lovely artwork adorned the Airfix kits of my youth. Just a pity that so many are unavailable as prints unless somebody out there knows different ?………..:love-struck:

Below……….and this is what happens when they get it wrong.
This was an RAF loan pilot in the Sultanate of Oman in the 1980s. He was showing off to his wife who was standing on the range control tower. The railing was 4ft away from his wife !!

Below…..How low can you go? The guy was in the driver’s seat of the car when the ventral strake of a Jaguar (the sticky out bit underneath the engine in pic above) sliced his roof. Again, the Sultanate of Oman in the 80s…………Coupé anyone?

Frank Kelly probably the funniest character of the Father Ted series which I have the lot on DVD excellent comedy series IMHO……:cool:
