Just starting ‘The Ascendants Of Estorea Book.1. OF 2. – Cry Of The Newborn’ by James Barclay.
The Estorean Conquord has stood for 850 years. Its Advocate, Herine Del Aglios, knows that she presides over the greatest civilisation in history. But she wants more. And in Estorea’s recently conquered territories dissent is brewing. Yes I loved it was quite funny like you said in places the odd thing I found about how difficult it was to pin a couple of the astronauts down Neil Armstrong especially. As an example when the author attended a seminar in Spain with all the attendees having to sign non disclosure agreements ? then having to go through security measures by his personal security force! very odd action for somebody who you would think would want to tell everybody about his experience on the moon (Tin foil hat time:D)
Right then back on topic, at the moment I have just started Voices Of The Great War by Peter Vansittart. Just at the beginning of the 1st chapter 1914 and some very surprising facts come to light that the whole war could have been stopped but for the arrogance of certain country’s leaders, so sad really that they could not agree on a peace deal around a table before the terrible loss of life to all country’s involved….:(
