Hi All,
mike currill,
You are correct I failed my HGV Class 1 (Non Eu dictat implemented :D) 1st time because of that very fact ” Not enough progress” As far as retesting goes I would think that they apply the same rules to driving to all like they do with HGV, every five years a physical or at the least why not a refresher every year after say 70 Yr’s ? I know it a pain but if it helps keep the roads safer and the drivers current then I would have no objections to this.

Hi All,

Hi All,
Isn’t all this Good/Bad-Slow/Fast driving all gibberish at the end of the day ? When it comes down to the metal it’s all about your own ability and how you see your own driving standards and lets be totally honest we all think we are better than we really are ? You could have been taught all the driving skills in the world and still be the worst driver on the planet in my mind. Don’t forget that’s just among the population who have actually invested in driving lessons or had others teach them and go onto actually passed their test!
There are an awful lot of drivers who are driving on our roads who have not had a Single driving lesson, Are uninsured, Come from another country were driving standards are even worse than what we have over here, etc.etc.
There are many factors as why there are so many drivers who cannot drive according to the rules, whether they drive badly through over-confidence or basically ignore what they have learnt choosing to drive with the self belief:- They have more skill than they actually possess, They have passed there test then stick two fingers up and drive like they never had a lesson either that or they simply forget ?
The laws of the road are there for a reason whether or not some drivers choose to ignore them is down to them, at the end of the day you have to accept responsibility for your own actions if you knowingly break not just those laws but in everyday life situations, if you take a risk and get caught nobody to blame but the person gripping with the steering wheel in this particular subject matter ! It’s no use thinking about your actions after the event, only from the point of I won’t do it again but some people will never learn I suppose will they ? We all make mistakes some more than others and that is a fact of life Old/Young/Good/Bad it doesn’t matter it whether we can learn from these mistakes. 😉

H All,
Cap10,
Do you drive HGV for a living ?
Geoff.
Hi All,
It was only active like others have indicated in sections along English and German trenches and the only reason the fighting resumed the next day was that Officers in the English Army heard about it and threatened to shoot any soldier who repeated it again for treason, whether this also happened in the German Army is open to question I would think but I can’t see the German Officers relishing the thought of an unofficial truce either. 🙁
Also the London/Irish regiment has one of the balls that the Germans tossed over when the London /Irish troops advanced, it’s part of their museum.
Geoff.

On-line buying is a god send for me as I suffer from agoraphobia but I will admit I do miss the buying from shops, both have their advantages and disadvantages.
