Many thanks to you all for the interesting posts and the pictures supplied by all you snappers. :applause: Now it’s silly question time again:- Why has there been no effort to my knowledge of an appeal to have the civilian airliners put under cover permanently ? I know for the most part they are rather large aircraft but all the same don’t they deserve to be looked after a bit better than the wonderful work that all the Duxford staff can do with what funding they have ?
Bearing in mind all the airbase closures coming up what would the cost of acquiring one or two hangers to display these old beauties in ? or have I hit the nail on the head and it really coming down to available funding ? seems a waste of materials to me to reduce hangers to their components then sell them for scrap why can’t those who are the bean counters come up with a way of getting these aircraft hangered as they ought to be ? :confused:
