Hi All,
But can you really accept the differences when one should really fit all ? I mean just read the article about the cost of each unit $158 – $377 million each depending on the model, how can they even begin to explain the vast gap in price that’s obviously over double for the top model ??? I mean their not bloody cars there military jets it’s a disgrace how they can come up with these figures particularly when its the same basic airframe unless with the top model you obviously get gold plated HOTAS and Ejector seat handles perhaps a surround sound stereo system it ludicrous.
Along with this news comes more on the search for a sixth Gen fighter ??? I mean it doesn’t make any sense looking for the next 6th Gen when they haven’t even decided on what a typical cost of a 5th Gen F-35 will be let alone taking into consideration the Chinese have allegedly developed this little baby to locate the it.

Hi All,
Wouldn’t it have been a lot cheaper to build one version of the F-35 that catered for all needs instead of producing two or three variants ? I mean if it was built with a tail hook that could just be attached or detached for specific customer requirements, as an example surely they could have the strength in the airframe when being built with attachment points point if needed ?
Geoff.
Hi All,
Excellent! The true way to have a meaningful discussion and make the offender see the error of his ways. :applause:
Geoff.

Hi All,
Batman Begins – Christian Bale better than the others and a nice Batmobile 😀
Geoff.
Hi All,
Obligatory,
Always loved the original Arrow but feel in love with it again when I first heard of the Arrow 2 proposal, am In not correct that they have thought about off the shelf technology for the systems and weapons and I just wonder what would happen if Bristol and Avro actually teamed up to produce the Arrow and Tsr2 together rather than go it alone projects could have saved both IMHO bot are far superior aircraft than the white Elephant of an F-35 the only view that I like of it is as it’s flying away it looks far better than it does side on or from the front, IMHO they have with the F-35 tried to run like Bolt before they can walk like a baby steps.
The canopy is another obvious pimple in IMO as I would have thought you need a canopy akin to the F-16 not a barn door! As for the design for vertical flight the Russians had a similar system on the Yak 141 and they abandoned it and you have to ask why ? but I just came across this and although in Russian language you can definitely see the resemblance so is the video title true ?
Geoff.
Hi All,
Many thanks again to all you snappers excellent photographs as always and I repeat what I put in the Duxford thread if we had to pay for your work we would owe you a lot of money (Or words to that effect :D):eagerness:

Hi All,
Many thanks to you snappers for the excellent photographs, if we had to pay you for your time we on this forum would owe quite a bit of money. Keep up the well received work all. :eagerness:
Geoff.
Hi All,
All the extinct RAF Aircraft that nobody thought to save at least one example of in particular WWII aircraft Stirling/Wellington/Halifax/Whitley/Hampden/Firefly1/ Skua/Typhoon/Whirlwind/Lysander (With rear turret) and List two all the cancelled projects in particular TSR2/SR-177/Gloster supersonic Javelin/Supersonic Kestral/ Gloster E28/39.
Geoff.
Hi All,
I would second what TontT,Bager168 and hampden98 have put.
F-35 – White Elephant waste of money/F-111 – TSR-2 Would definitely have got the go ahead and The Labour government so much promise for the working person never actually realised while at the same time slaughtering our aviation industry. One other thing I would do is advise the Air ministry to take notice of Frank Whittle and his Idea for the Jet engine also a note to Westlands the whirlwind fighter needs merlin’s and a note to RR produce more merlin’s and forget the vulture.
Geoff. :stupid:
