How tickled I was.

Hi All,
Surprised nobody has mentioned the passing of the comic with a velvet voice Ken Dodd. I remember him from various times in my life from watching him in B&W on telly with the family and in Colour with the Diddymen series from my school days.

As I grew up I enjoyed him still whenever I saw him on Tv what I regret above all else is never seeing his live show despite him carrying on performing well into his late 70’s & Early 80’s. By some accounts when the curtain fell and he did an encore he got rather blue 😀 and would carry on for hours if allowed such was his enthusiasm for pleasing his paying public.

The passing of this all-round entertainer is another passing of childhood and adult memories combined again thank you Doddy for your entertainment you where and always shall be tatyfelareous RIP.

Live By Night 2016 (Via Sky Cinema) A somewhat sedated gangster film but when the action does happen it is good so on the whole although panned

As for the thread I remember asking about a Wellington that is apparently in some marsh (London area) that keeps appearing from time to time did that
ever have a recovery operation ? Then there was the one posted on the forum a while back that was in remarkable condition condition discovered by
divers in the Mediterranean somewhere.

Isn’t there a second fuselage being worked on at Brooklands ? If as suggested it’s a relatively easy construct why has nobody ever tried to restore one to airworthiness ? Would that be another case of finding the correct engines similar to the Beaufighter not being completed ? or is that old sticking problem
funding and the will to do it ? Having said this couldn’t you just plum in others i.e. Sea Fury with Curtis wright engines.

Hi All,
Here’s an outside the box thought with the Breitling Super Connie nearing completion after their Repair/Restoration that featured in (April Flypast)
What are the chances that team already having the indepth knowledge will be tasked to complete the project if the aircraft is shipped in restored components ? Either at their home Breitling base or just coming to wherever it ends up with Lufthansa Germany if the Connie is coming to Europe to be completed.

Having suggested the above it appears there is a petition to keep the Connie being restored at the Auburn Maine to finish what they started on the SCFA

Meddle & Kurt – No of coarse not! I was merely suggesting that along with the Red tape + Pc culture that is prevalent throughout current society in
any activity that is what comes first. i.e NO YOU CAN’T HAVE/DO/WANT that etc. etc.

I was also suggesting a possible reason why nobody was interested in buying the meteor could have been due to the fact a similar attitude etc.etc. are also imbedded within the CAA and other bodies that make the rules and regulations within the aviation community.

Which in turn puts the mockers on people who would otherwise look at buying and operating jet aircraft, I assume that after the Hunter accident jet operation guidelines and regulations have been tightened with sterner limits ? This in turn would have a detrimental effect on the mkt ?
