Hi All,
Why thank Strat….:eagerness: Could the Jaguar have been upgraded at all or had it reached the end of it’s service life considering India kept theirs flying ? I am thinking in terms of Engines/Avionics or was it merely a bean counter decision with the likes of Typhoon and Voyager having to be paid for ?

Hi ALL,
I watched a supposed Sci-Fi/Drama last night via (Sky Cinema), the film is called ‘The Quiet Hour’ relies more on the ability of the young cast rather than all the CGI bells and whistles that accompany most Sci-Fi- genre these days. I was hoping for a good low budget British film but it fails to deliver miserably and only recommend if you have watched everything (Sky Cinema) has to offer sadly, still this is my opinion and as always down to personal taste…….
Starring:-Dakota Blue Richards,Karl Davies(Robert No.2.-Emerdale)Jack McMullen,Jack McMullen,Brigitte Millar,James Browne,Liam O’Brien,Zeb Moore
Paul Flanagan
Humans are few and far between since Earth was invaded by unseen extraterrestrial machines that harvest the planet’s natural resources and relentlessly kill its inhabitants. In a remote part of the countryside, where starved humans have become as dangerous as the alien machines hovering in the sky, a feisty 19 year old girl, Sarah Connolly, sets out on a desperate attempt to fight back a group of bandits and defend her parents’ farm, their remaining livestock, and the solar panels that keep them safe from extraterrestrials. If she doesn’t succeed, she will lose her only source of food and shelter; but if she resists, she and her helpless blind sibling will be killed. And if the mysterious intruder dressed like a soldier who claims he can help them turns out to be a liar, then the enemy may already be in the house. Hi All,
I watched via (Sky Cinema) ‘Kingsman’ Don’t know what all the fuss was about it being a spectacular film just felt like I was watching a chav version of a James Bond rip off in it 😀 Having said that a good bit of escapism…..;) What I did notice about the film was for the first time ever in my case, it appeared to have a political theme about it with S.Jackson banging on about global warming at every opportunity which detracts I think from the film itself sad to say……:apologetic:
Starring:-Taron Egerton,Alex Nikolov,Colin Firth,Samuel L. Jackson,Mark Strong,Michael Caine,Sophie Cookson,Sofia Boutella,Samantha Womack,

Hi All,
I watched the low budget British Sci-Fi film ‘Kill Command’ via (Sky Cinema). A fast paced action film the first 45mins fly past I personally found, then a breather then it’s off again. I really enjoyed the film and anybody who is into Sci-Fi should like this film, it’s similar to ‘Southern Comfort’ military training goes wrong but with AI Robots and set in the near future……
Starring:-Thure Lindhardt,Vanessa Kirby,David Ajala,Bentley Kalu,Tom McKay,Mike Noble,Kelly Gough and Osi Okerafor.
Set in a near future, technology-reliant society is creating killing machines. Against this backdrop an elite army unit is helicoptered in to a remote, off-the-grid island training facility, to test the capabilities of the latest prototypes. They set up positions and make short work of the AI targets in the killing field. However, overnight their sentry goes missing, and when they find the corpse the next day they find themselves in the killing field and the tables have turned. The marines fight to survive on an island is overrun by an enemy intelligence far beyond their predecessors, which learns from their every move.

Hi All,
Whether your a fan of any project no matter what it’s someone’s dream whether that comes off is another question ? Dream big and start small ? At least
these people who dare try are putting their money where their mouths are. I would say one of the easiest way to get involved if only in a minor way with
any project is buy some merchandise.
After all I have said it before on the forum without these visionaries who put the money were their mouths are we would not be witnessing flying
restorations let alone walking around the statics at museums I would say they need all the help they can get no matter how small….:eagerness:

Hi All,
Could it be a fair assumption that the main consideration for Marshall’s pulling the plug was mainly financial bearing in mid how much they wrote off
according to the post by Cherry Ripe ?
Could that in turn have lead to a domino effect ? i.e. Seeing Mrashall’s withdraw support from XH558 they in turn thought along the lines of :- “Well if Marshalls are not supporting why should we ?”
Geoff.
Hi All,
I watched via (Sky Cinema) ‘The Man From Uncle’ a very underrated film IMHO, I thought and has it’s really funny moments along with some good action.
The two main characters Napoleon and Ilya compliment each other well both very funny at times reacting to each others actions, just a good old fashioned enjoyable Action/Adventure escapism film which I enjoyed thoroughly…..;)
Starring:-Henry Cavill,Armie Hammer,Alicia Vikander,Elizabeth Debicki,Jared Harris,Hugh Grant,Luca Calvani,Sylvester Groth,David Menkin,
Simona Caparrini,Misha Kuznetsov,Christian Berkel and who do we have here David Beckham😮
At the height of the Cold War, a mysterious criminal organization plans to use nuclear weapons and technology to upset the fragile balance of power between the United States and Soviet Union. CIA agent Napoleon Solo (Henry Cavill) and KGB agent Illya Kuryakin (Armie Hammer) are forced to put aside their hostilities and work together to stop the evildoers in their tracks. The duo’s only lead is the daughter of a missing German scientist, whom they must find soon to prevent a global catastrophe.

Hi All,
A very interesting project indeed I can only admire the people who set themselves up for these goals as more often than not the end project is 1st class. Having said that I would have thought a B-24 may have been a better choice to build from start ? I only say this as there are already a number of airworthy B-17’s across the US.
Could there decision be based on the B-24 a more technically challenging aircraft to build ? Could the amount of old new stock items available would make that an even greater challenge as B-17 parts are more available ? I bring this up as there is only two airworthy Liberators, although Kermit Weeks example is meant to be airworthy although spending it’s time as a static since it last flew in the late 90’s but as wiki states it will need a complete restoration before she fly’s again.
I just wish all involved all the luck in the world with their B-17 project because at the end of the day another airworthy B-17 is great news….:applause::cool:

Hi All,
I watched the excellent Polish with English sub-titles ‘Warsaw 44’ via (Sky Cinema) as recommended by TonyT.:eagerness: Basically the film has the back
story of two young people in love but concentrates the last two thirds especially on the uprising with excellent action throughout. I enjoyed it thoroughly
even with a couple of shocks especially the execution of a minor 😮 apart from that a real good enjoyable WW2 genre film…..

Hi All,
Russia seems to have copied an idea to far that time..:D In 1940, two Avro Ansons belonging to a training squadron of the Royal Australian Air Force collided in mid air and locked together. The crew of the lower plane bailed out but the engines continued running. The upper plane’s engines failed, but the pilot found that he was able to control the wreckage with the upper plane’s ailerons and flaps. He landed both planes in a field. Everyone involved survived.
