1. the fresh air tube around the exhaust brings in the warm air and I caan tell you it works very nicely.
2. the circles on top the fuselage are covered over astrodomes, post WWII mode to teach navigators.

As far as the props go if they follow the same practice we do on our AC-47 then it’s point one blade down after landing. before the next flight the crew goes out and pulls the props thru and leaves one blade up which lets everyone know that the props have been pulled thru and the engines are ready to start.
I would use some money to build a 9th AF airbase complete with the hardstands, then buy 30 + C-47’s repaint them to D-Day markings. have a great w/e flying them dropping jumpers etc. and Big BBQ saturday evening !
