Brace yourself for a torrent of comments about lighting…
Doest it have to be a first prototype to qualify for this list of survivors?
There’s an (not the, but an) example of the XP-51 in the US:

I for one would love to see G-AIDN back in yellow. We now have quite a lot of DG/OG/MSG late-war scheme Spitfires in the circuit…
Shuttle bus (pun intended) from Biggleswade on airshow days? What a way to arrive in style!
Good to see you let loose on an aircraft of your own! Looks like a fair bit to get your teeth into there…
Good to see one of these getting preserved, and inside too 🙂
I must say it looks stunning. How complete is the restoration internally, and in terms of engine ancillaries etc??
Some nice shots there, love the Latin American Corsair, RAAF Mustangs and the Black Cat. It really looks the the part with that nose turret!
Beautiful shots. 1/2sec handheld exposures, wow!
It would be nice if the RAF would donate some RB199s for the Tornado F.3…
RIP, what a shame.
Lightning II.
Oh, wait…
Oh and the Meteor NF.11 to operate
Erm, have I missed something? Where the heck did that one come from?
Agreed, I went on Wednesday and very much enjoyed my first visit. The Hampden tail looked extremely impressive, with all the rudder and elevator linkages fully connected up. The centre fuselage was also pretty much all fitted out with systems.
The Wellington’s outer wings look all done and dusted, but there’s plenty of work remaining on the centre section and fuselage.
It was particularly encouraging to talk to the young apprentices about their work, and see their evident enthusiasm for preservation 🙂
Get well soon Edgar.
Restoration work has begun on Firefly SE-BRG in building 66 at DX and was evident on Sunday with an engineer working on one of the wings.
Great news! Thanks for that.
