It’s a fibreglass replica apparently representing a 41sqdn Mk. 1a, although it has an odd mix of features including Mk.II starter bulge, and Mk. IX exhausts etc.

The Cold War hall is excellent and a must-see. Do leave time for the transport and training hall: the only Argosy and Andover preserved undercover are here, and one of my personal favourites at Cosford: the incredibly important Comet I. It’s great to just stand looking at it and imagin what might have been if we had actually ruled the world of jet transport…

I noticed an item that looked suspiciously like a Catalina nose turret in Hangar 2 at Duxford last weekend, is this evidence of a future modification for this fine machine?
