    I to only met him the once, like kev, at the get together back in January, so enthusiastic, the best talk I have ever heard, I would have gladly sat through it again and again, a truly wonderful man. He will be sadly missed. My sincerest condolences to his family.

    Wait a moment A,L, has moved the goal post so to speak he’s gone from “I hate spitfires” to “I only like Griffon Engined spits” and now he says he likes merlin engined spits be it packard built ones !
    I think if we carry on we will eventually get him to admit he’s a spitfire anorak really!!:D 😀

    BTW First Airshow that I remember….. 1975 Middle Wallop Army Air Corps show the first time I saw the “swarm” approach,which included The USAF Skycrane (“Tarhe”) helicopter and cobra gunships awsume sight as well as Sea Stallions from the German AF and I think there were Jolly Green Giants from the US as well
