I’ve also noticed the ‘floating’ that the C150/152/172 does during hot temperatures. It must be something to do with the rising heat and as you say thermals. As you suggested, using a lower flap setting normally helped. All good fun though!

I didnt know most of the HS748’s had gone. Were they scrapped?

I think getting rid of controlled airspace would cause alot of safety issues.

Wonderful! When I lived a few miles from Northolt they only ran the families day once and stopped! I really want to make one of them.

Did the spitfire do a flypast? I only ask as I saw it fly over my house in Milton Keynes heading south at about 3:15pm and I believe the BBMF time table stated a 3:30pm flypast at Northolt.
