    abutcher1985,

Yeah, I didnt realise when I started flying training that I was doing so to be able to marry people. 😮 😀

    Lord Ollswater,

I’m aware of the duties of a pilot, however, my question regarding the CAA was more towards the fact that you need 2 pilots for commercial operations. Of course there is some give and take in that some short flights (Islanders etc) can fly with one pilot, but airliners like B737’s have to have a crew of two pilots. Thats why I asked if they would require a third pilot specifically for the wedding.

Im just curious how they would go about it if they pulled it off (which they probably wont) Like, I wonder if they would carry a third pilot to ‘marry’ the couple, afterall, if one of the flying pilots were to do the job then the aircraft would be flown with one pilot in the cockpit which i’m not sure the CAA would be pleased about.

Thanks very much, Paul! Yeah I know what you mean about the white balance. I’m still getting used to different settings on the camera. I think the LHR shots were my first time out shooting planes with the S8000fd. I have a good friend (coincidentally called Paul) who has been helping me and recently hes been giving me tips on the white balance but I just need practice really.
Thanks once again for the comment. 😎

Thanks, Brian. I thought some of these might be of interest to you after your comments about liking Cornwall so much in another topic. 😀 😎

I’ve got quite a few photos i’ve taken from the air over Cornwall during my time down there. Sadly though I did lose some when my PC died once a few years back. I’ll have a look through my CD’s and see what else I may have that maybe of interest.

Yeah the cafe at Lands End went quite a while ago.. then theres the whole thing about Lands End kicking out the flying school in January 2009 for British International to move in from Penzance only for them to change their mind until later on in the year.

I last flew in to Lands End in 2007 and it was a nice place – nice staff, nice ATC too. Not sure what its like there now though.

Perranporth is also under new owners since I left in 2007 but from what i’ve heard they are doing the place up nicely. The airfield had a hangar built not long before I left Cornwall so if you require hangarage they can provide you with it. Their website is below which also includes a few photos I took during my time there..

Truro Airfield is another option but its more inland and very quiet. Mind you, I also had a nice time flying from there for a while too.

Porthtowan airfield is also an option, its a private strip though so i’m not sure if they accept outside traffic. I met the owner once and he was a nice chap so i’m sure his airfield is an option, but again, I dont know the proximity to the local RNLI.

    Thankyou.
    Sorry I didnt ID the airfields before. They are;

    1) Final Approach to runway 05 at Perranporth, Cornwall.
    2) Lands End Aerodrome St. Just. Cornwall.
    3) RAF Portreath, Cornwall.
    4) RNAS Culdrose, Cornwall.
    5) Truro Airfield, Cornwall.

The aerial shot of the stadium is Stadium;MK. Home of the Milton Keynes Dons. I’m a Liverpool fan but as I live right by stadium;MK I also like to see the Dons win too.

Wow $300,000? I wonder if she’ll be willing to help me pay for the rest of my flying training.

Mind you though, if you’ve got the money to go into space, why not, afterall, its not something everyone gets to do.

Yeah i’ve been thinking the same for quite a while. Ever since they denied the airport a new terminal, and then Thomsonfly pulling out, the airfields days seemed to be numbered. It seems like the council are completely against the airport. A shame though because I think it could of been a useful airfield for cargo combined with passenger flights.

I think my flying school also use Coventry for commercial cross country flights or at least ILS practice.
