It looks like the same one my friend Bryn took a photo of around the same time and we concluded it was an LH B744.

Either a trip down to Heathrow or even a trip down to my dads (he lives near heathrow) helps me.
Also sometimes just going to sit by one of my local lakes helps me to de-stress. Or sometimes just going flying and building up some hours!

Been years since I went there. Legoland replaced the safari park they had there. You do get some stuff fly over, its not very very low but its enough to ID airline + type.

Is that possible? Surely if the aircraft were near landing, the brakes would be cool anyway and if it had just taken off they wouldn’t really have been used, or am I being stupid and missing something? It wouldn’t be the first time I’d been stupid and missed something! 😀

Sometimes after departure the gear can be left down for a few reasons. Most common reason though is to cool the brakes down via the airflow. The reason they can get hot before take off is due to a long taxi, or lots of braking on a downhill taxiway.

Not sure about this particular flight though.

Very nasty accident and very sad.
Pretty impossible to get an answer from the video alone though. All will be concluded in time once the accident has been sufficiently investigated.
