Me thinks it is about time that a ‘Build Houses on the Local Golf Course and Council Run Leisure Centre’ movement was set up. Then watch then squeal.

Agreed! Start building on areas like that and see if everyone else likes it. Airfields are becoming too easy targets nowadays.

Thanks very much, Matt. I believe that you are right. I saw a photo on airliners.net I believe it was, of her sitting in the desert. I do miss the BA B757’s at LHR, they were my favourite type.

Found some old pics of my days training for my PPL a few years ago.

Taken in 2007. After an afternoon circuit training I changed seats with one of the other student pilots and took photos from the backseat while he practiced some circuits with our instructor.

Taken after departing Plymouth City Airport on a hazy day in 2007 after a practice run of the qualifying cross country en-route back to Perranporth in C172 G-ROUP (Sadly I understand that G-ROUP crashed in 2012 after the pilot apparently committed suicide crashing 2 miles from where I used to live)

Flying over Perranporth beach and over the sea to join downwind for runway 05 at Perranporth airfield. In G-ROUP, inbound from Plymouth City Airport.

I do confess, I miss flying from Perranporth. Will never forget those days, especially the ones where the windy was gusty! Practicing an engine out during gusty winds was always fun.. but when the weather was lovely the views were incredible down there, flying over the mainland and still insight of the Isles of Scilly.

    Stumbled across this amateur footage:

    http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=13e_1356848408

Interesting video. Slightly sick that someone would video while emergency services were rescuing injured people. Even if it was being filmed for evidence etc it seems a bit sick that Reuters published the video along with what looks like another news company.
The last thing I’d expect is someone to shove a camera in front of me if I happened to crash one day.
