I always think there’s a better way than just simply importing RD93 to power JF-17.

1. Enable AVIC1 Liyang engine plant to get some ready technologies that it needs via TOT when it purchases the production line from Russia. So it can indigenize the engine like SAC indigenizes Flankers.
2. Pakistanis can sleep better when they learn their fighter jets’ engine can be maintained and manufactured in China instead of Russia. Nobody should under minds this concern, Russia already threatened to hold the RD93 export for once in peace time it most likely will do the same under certain pressures.
3. India can be satisfied because no Russian stuff found in its opponent’s fighter.

So a little bit delay is worth and some RD93s should already delivered.

TSMC was founded in 1987. Its founders and CEO worked and educated before that in US. I am sure there millions more like them who benefited. the foundation of Taiwan was laid down in Cold war period. Infact US was pretty down by end of Cold war. Japan was the rising sun. so it is pretty obvious US gave alot to East Asia.
