Wonder if BA will now get their £50 Million loan to Swiss back.
Nah, BA got eight slots at Heathrow from Swiss in exchange for that… a very sound bit of business.
so if you were on a tight schedule for a business trip, it’d be ok if you got told, tough sh1t, you’ve missed your connection, now stay here in the middle of nowhere ad infinitum?

although I think they are great for short breaks and business trips I wouldnt fly with Ryanair for my main summer holiday.
Why ever not? they get you from A to B, and you certainly never tire of going on about how good they are…

Autumn 85. BA GLA-LHR, not sure of type, but probably 757. Connected on to a Tristar to CDG (also BA) from the then brand new Terminal4. Flew back direct CDG-GLA on a BA BAC1-11.

ahhhhhhhh… I flew on a Swissair A310 from Zurich to Heathrow back in ’89. my recollection of it was a pretty hot summer (especially if you then spent 5 hours in the Train from Euston to Glasgow right after…)
don’t have the outbound reg, but inbound (LHR-ZRH) was HB-IPE, the first built A310. It’s now with FedEx as N450FE.

and you can fly from Prestwick to L&u uml;beck…
That’d be Hamburg (Lübeck), then…
it does kind of make sense, though… uml being umlaut (¨), and acute obviously being an acute accent (ie Nímes).
What to me dosen’t make sense is that after going to the trouble of using the umlaut in Lübeck, they don’t use it in either Düsseldorf or Berlin Schönefeld…)
