RE: Emergency Landing of flybe 146. Serious Injurys
this incident was apparently due to Ice.

RE: What should I expect?
but one of
>the stations was called “from the flightdeck” and you could
>hear the air traffic control talking to our aircraft and
>surrounding aircraft.
I too listened to that on my one and only UA flight, 5 years ago on a 757 from SFO to EWR, so you should get it on domestic flights, too (over a certain aircraft size, anyway)
RE: AIRBUS STARTS A380 WING PRODUCTION AT BROUGHTON, U.K.
being bigger than the AN124 dosen’t make it a record breaker, there’s still the AN225…
RE: What should I expect?
er, correct me if I’m wrong… but aren’t ALL transatlantic flights International ones? 😛
RE: For WSIWYG
do you get up to FL 39 much?
Highest I can remeber being being told was our cruising altitude was FL33.

RE: AIRBUS STARTS A380 WING PRODUCTION AT BROUGHTON, U.K.
>the boat must be going to the UK
What Boat? you’ve got me confused now…
Wyswig, I think I did read something about A380 wings being shipped by sea (Bristol Channel-Irish Sea-English Channel-Hamburg or Bristol Channel-Irish Sea-Atlantic Ocean-Straits of Gibraltar-Mediterranean-Toulouse)
Although I too would like to see that confirmed, first…
Anyway, I’m a bit worried in case any wings end up at teh bottom of the Channel being rammed by Container ships that can’t take hints off patrolling French destroyers… like a beamer, really… }>)
RE: Christmas came early yesterday…
congrats to him…
given the choice, the 340 is probably more interesting at the moment, as the familiy grows, although if he’s not so keen on Fly by wire/sidesticks, the 747 would obviously be ideal…
RE: Dumb as dog…t!
yeah, I got 47%…
I haven’t got a clue what fighter jets are based where… :S

RE: Astraeus 737 diverted after fans ‘riot’
If anyone can be bothered reading this (it’s 13 pages long, and not purely about the flight) there’s an [link:http://www.etims.net/features/aeu308.html|article] at a Fanzine which look sat all aspects of the alleged incident…
If you do read it, bear with it, it does have a rant at the media’s portrayal of the incident first…
And, bear in mind, it’s a fanzine, so does need to be taken with a pinch of salt at times (well, mainly the chip on it’s shulder about the media)…
But what does appear to be appearing is that the aircraft involved was, well, i wouldn’t say not airworthy, but would appear to have suffered from more than it’s fair share of engine trouble before both the outward and return flights, and it does raise the question of how these problems affected the nerves of the crew, and how they dealt with the issue of the cigarette at 30’000 feet.
Anyway, maybe some of our pilots here could have a look and post their thoughts on what they read (if you want to post anything you’ve heard through the grapevine, that’d be great too, but I understand the issue of confidentiality).
It does seem to be a total storm in a teacup, and it’s certainly not good press for Celtic, anyway.

Ah! so suddenly this IS a legitimate topic in this forum, then… ?
