No, he hasn’t.
don’t ask…
That was sarcasm…
what a lot of BS…
Its just plane daft when a plane does a wheelie on the runway
Yes, I always find that the runway is the best place to unload an aircraft
Fire department spokesman Bob Collis said “as soon as they took whatever it was out of the back of the plane the weight shiffted and the plane just went back on its tail.
The MD-11 can defy the laws of Physics, then? surely if they took something out of the back of it, the CoG would have shifted forward…

I’m assuming there was a picture with this story? How do we know it wasn’t ‘created’ in some army barracks up north with the sole reason of giving them a story to write about? 😉
ok, now I’m back home, I’ve finally managed to get hold of a digicam…
Here’s my lineup as it stands today…
l-r
British Airways Concorde G-BOAG
Swissair A319-112 HB-IPV
Air France Concorde F-BVFB
Vietnam Airlines 777-200ER VN-A141
Royal 757-236 C-GRYK
Currently on the way in the Post should be Air New Zealand 747-400 All Blacks, and preordered is British Airways 737-436 Blue Poole.
Worst was DUB to BHX on a 732 when we did a steep 90 degree right turn because the TCAS went off.
Damn, they should have just gone straight on and taken the collision on the nose (so to speak), and worried about it after…
I wouldn’t see much point of watching a screen on an RJ, when there is fantastic scenery below. This will be my 1st ERJ flight. Bhoy, wot everu say bout Swiss ERJ’s it won’t put me off.
P.S BHX tommoz can’t wait!
Not trying to put you off the ERJ, I had my first flight on one just two months ago, also LX, although it was only a 20 minute hop down to ZRH on the way to Barcelona. Nice little plane. I was on HB-JAJ.
Enjoy yourself.
guys, what’s with all the lists? are you accusing me of having flown on lots of types? it’s soooo not true…

the 195’s have been put on hold indefinately, too (so the Avros’ get a stay of execution, too). They are due to be delivered as of this Autumn, but at a slow rate, and only 20 of the original 50 on order are to be taken up.
That’s what I said…
LX’ service is passable, although the Airbus fleet is better than the Embraers for amenities.
. As in, LX has better amenities on their AIrbus fleet than on their Embraer fleet.
And as for this…
Oh and one other thing about the Swiss, they can’t drink…
Trust a weegie to make that comment LOL!
When you’re working in a Pub and trying to clear away glasses and they nurse a bloody half pint for an hour and a half and then refuse to let you take the glass because ‘I haven’t finished yet’ when all the glass contains is a dribble of backwash, you have to wonder… :s
Condor used to send a 767 once a week (Do they still do this?).
Condor flight DE7082 departs Frankfurt 10:10am, arrives Las Vegas 12:35pm, operated by 767. operates Sundays between 9 May-24 October.
Condor flight DE7083 departs Las Vegas 2:45pm, arrives Frankfurt 10:35am*, operated by 767. operates Sundays between 9 May-22 August.

ok, just to expand on the ERJ/32S thing, The 320 series’ have the LCD screens so you’ve got something to do, ie watch the map and the fleet news they put up (no sound, though, which is maybe just as well when the obligatory Donald Duck Cartoons startup), whereas in the ERJ there’s not much to do.
Talking of LX’ ERJ’s, the latest rumour is that, instead of selling the Saab2000 fleet as the Embraer 170’s come on line, LX will sell the ERJ145 fleet, as in the current market they’re eminantly more saleable, and Speed/Range of the 145/S20 are roughly similar. First LX 170 delivery is (finally) due this Autumn. stay tuned for more info…
ah, this is where I jump into the thread, then…
What Swiss are worried about is releasing their client database to BA, BA then sending targeted marketing to all LX clients, and LX being left without those PAX who decide to travel BA instead. After all, this time next year, Swiss will only have the ZRH route out of LHR, with GVA going to all BA (with LX codeshares) from the end of the Summer timetable, and BSL following suit at the end of the winter schedule next March.
As for service, well, LX’ service is passable, although the Airbus fleet is better than the Embraers for amenities.
That Star rumour has refused to go away for about 2 or 3 months now, but like George, I can’t see much benefit in it for LH, either.
Oh and one other thing about the Swiss, they can’t drink…
yeah, he’s a TCX 757 first Officer, but like he says, this’ll be his last sortie, as he’s leaving Thomas Cook at the end of the Month and joining Virgin on the A340 fleet (which is the conversion course he alluded to…)
hmm, not sure how easy transferring STN-LHR is; the ANZ flight goes via LAX, though, so maybe you could use your ‘normal’ BIQ-CDG with AF/CDG-LAX with UA route then join the NZ flight there?
I very much doubt it. I have yet to see an A320 family aircraft with anything other than the LCD screens that come down from the ceiling, and, while Swissair/Swiss did/do use them to show cartoons, the seats don’t have headphone jacks, so there’s not much point in looking forward to IFE on them…
