HB-IZA is the only Swiss Saab still sporting the silver Crossair look.
We have touchdown!
It’s Dutch Dakota Association DC-4 ZS-AUA!

Can you guess what it is yet?[/rolf harris]
Is that HZ-MF2? If it is, I saw it come in for that landing on Friday night. I recognise the woods in the background.
Swiss now charge for inflight meals in Economy on Shorthaul (ie European) flights.
Worst has to be anything in those BA doggy-bag All day deli thingys.

Ah right I see, maybe Scotland should have its own trans-Atlantic airline although it does seem pretty well covered for services to North America with American carriers in general.BA’s European network from Scotland does seem substancial though, doesn’t it?
BA has a European network from Scotland?
I don’t think they have any direct services to mainland Europe from Glasgow, they have one or two that go via Manchester/Birmingham to CDG, MAD, ZRH and FRA, but I don’t think they much more direct from Embra, either. (in fact, the only nonstop scheduled flight from Glasgow to mainland Europe is easyjet to Amsterdam!!!)
As for Transatlantic Services ex-Scotland, the CO flight(s) to EWR are the only scheduled year round service(s). The other routes (AC GLA-YYZ and AA GLA-ORD) are Summer only, which, as far as I make it, is hardly ‘well covered’.
As regards Dusseldwarf’s query re PIK departures, I really don’t know… The answer is proabably shrouded back in the mists of time, although, if I had to hazard a guess, I’d say it probably dates back to the same era as all Transatlantic flights from Ireland having to stop at Shannon to refuel…
Here’s an AF one that isn’t a BE a/c…
Lufthansa RJ85 touches down.
12 Years ago, when BA first started flying to JFK from GLA it was a Tristar, although, as BA phased them out, it became a 757 route (I think it had an enroute stop at BOS, too, at one stage), however, when CO started the EWR flight, BA pulled out of transatlantic ops ex-GLA altogether. 🙁
ok, here’s mine (it’s not huge, I rarely get a chance to visit airports except when I’m passing through them)…
UK
GLA, PIK, EDI, BHX, LHR, LGW
Continental Europe
CDG, ORY, BSL, ZRH, BRU, SXB
Rest of World (mainly US)
PIT, SFO, EWR, YYZ
IF the image is the right size for this board, it’s straightforward…
right click on the image you want, go to properties, and copy (Ctrl+C) the address of the pic (it should look something like… http://www.aerosite.net/images/nationwide.jpg)
Then, go into your profile on this board, go to ‘change avatar’ (I think it’s in ‘personal profile’ or something similar), Paste the address you copied earlier (Ctrl+V) into the box where it wants the URL of your chosen image, press ‘confirm’ and it should work no problems.
IF the image is to big for posting directly on here, you need to right click on teh image, and select ‘save image’. give it a file name for your computer, making sure you know which folder it’s to be saved in (otherwise you’ve got to search all the folders on your computer for it after). Then, using a Graphics programme (MS Paint would do… it’s in Programmes->Accesories in the Windows Start bar), resize the saved picture till it’s within the boundaries of this board, save the smaller image (you can save over the original with the same file name if you want). Then, again, go to the ‘change avatar’ section as described above, select ‘Browse’, locate the image you want to upload so it appears in the space provided (should look something like C:/my documents/images/nationwide.jpg although it could be anywhere, depending on what folder you saved it in), and, again, press ‘confirm’ and it should be uploaded within a couple of seconds.
Can that guy not read a registration?
