do SIA not operate the 777 to MAN?
here, Ren, have you not confused the registrations of the two BA 737’s?
The first one must be G-DOCV (you labelled it G-DOCB), with G-DOCB further down (you didn’t label it). 😉
must be a zoom… with the gear up, it must still be miles away from touchdown.
it’s no’ orange, it’s tangerine… 😉
it’s definately a widebody, but it could equally be an A300, although I suppose the 763 is a more frequent visitor to LHR.
I too recently took a pic of a low flying a/c coming in to land over my house, I’ll post it later, as this machine dosen’t support my camera adapter.
aye, but we all know the 752 has excellent long haul capabilities, across the pond, for example…
Anyway, I’d rather travel longhaul on a 752 than on one of the old Crossair MD-83 charter flights from Switzerland to Madras… (with en route refuelling stop, obviously). Those things are cramped enough on the hour and a half flight to Heathrow, after all…
GD, Continental still use the 762 for some transatlantic routes (eg EWR-GLA during Spring/Autumn (Fall if you must) although it’s a 764 during Summer and 752 during Winter.).
In the UK, registrations don’t get reassigned at all.
Is the belly grey, or is it just shadow?
Or maybe it’s an Air France 340, with trademark dirt along the bottom… 😉
When I flew AF to YYZ 3 years ago, we flew over Prestwick, so it could well be a possibilty over Glasgow…
where abouts in Switzerland are you, starjet? I picked up my copy at a Kiosk at Basel SBB (train station) yesterday.
12 Franks 80, well, it could be worse, I suppose…

Are you talking about those strange propeller 747 lookalikes?
You mean the Carvair?

(full designation: Aviation Traders ATL-98 Carvair)
Nah, the Bristol 170 is this…

dunno, I assumed it was more to do with not being thrown around as much (you make yourself smaller, there’ll be less torque/g force acting on you in a crash situation.)
However… I’ve never quite mastered the technique, I’ve tried it once or twice, but always seem to end up headbutting the seat in front… have any of our cabin crew got any remedial suggestions about that? 😉
If they sent you a paper ticket, surely it was just a booking reference rather than an e ticket code?
yeah, I certainly can’t recall ever hearing any suggestions of Missiles in the SR111 investigation.
HB-IWF came down whilst attempting an emergency landing at Halifax, after a fire broke out in the cockpit ceiling area, which was traced back to an insulation blanket catching fire after some IFE wires arced and sparked.

I can’t find the online postcard… anyone got a link?
