Dominos across teh road? d’you stay near Bar Oz, then?
yeah, but China Airlines aren’t Chinese, they’re Taiwanese, so no point stereotyping Chinese carriers.
via SNN, I take it? :S
well, I’ve said before, the 73G has the range, LH operate a BBJ/ACJ from DUS and MUC to EWR.
But the 737 is cramped enough on a one hour sector, IMO, so 7 hours would pretty much be my idea of hell.
come to think of it, the Swiss Coop have a similar deal, although it’s much more expensive to get miles for them
7500 Points (7500 Swiss Franks worth of groceries… or 4 times what I payed to go to Canada (including accomodation) for ten days, three years ago
) can be traded in for 3’750 Swiss Travel Club miles (or 10’000 points for 5’000 Miles).
It only costs 20’000 Travel Club miles to get a free return flight in Europe on Swiss Economy, so it’s an absolute snip…
I’m not a particular fan of Stella, either, but it seems to be about all you can get dan sarf…
I was in Oxford for a week long revision course 4 years ago, and just about the only choice in draught beer in the pubs was Stella or Foster’s… (plus Guinness of course, but it’s Stout, not Beer :))
Prefer an Ale myself, though…
yeah, I get confused…
(without wanting to turn this thread into a shopping thread… )
Tesco Clubcard 1 point per £1
Nectar 2 points per £1
Co-op Dividend 4 points per £1
Boots Advantage 1 point per 25p.
That sounds about right, I redeemed 1000 Sainsbury’s Reward Card points for 800 BA Miles last year, right before they stopped doing BA.
So it’d be about the same, 250 Tesco Clubcard points per 400 Miles.
Actually, does anyone know if Nectar still have the Diamond Club redemption option, or did they stop it when they merged the Sainbury’s/BP/Debenhams/someone else cards?
second destination is IAD – Washington Dulles
they merged with a US defense company, didn’t they?
mongu, you’ve not quite got the right end of the stick…
To get a £2.50 voucher, you have to redeem 500 Clubcard points, which equates to £500 worth of groceries, which is slightly more expensive than return domestic flights…
Sainsbury’s used to have the deal with BA, but when Tesco replaced Sainsbury’s just over a year ago, Sainsbury’s moved to offering bmi Diamond Club points instead.
I can’t be bothered with package tours, either, only time I’ve been on (what could be considered) one was my rugby tour to Canada three years ago with RFC Basel.
1’800 Swiss (about £720, US$1010) bought us return flights with AF in Economy ZRH-CDG-YYZ, a hired coach for the ten days we were in Canada, seven nights at the Holiday Inn, Oakville, ON, three nights at the Hotel Maritime, Montréal, PQ, full touring kit (2 Polo shirts with badge, playing jersey, shorts, socks and tour embroidered kitbag), plus return train tickets from Basel to Zurich Airport (about 75 minutes in the train), and match fees for three games.
While food/drink wasn’t included (although I’m pretty sure the Bar bill came to more than the food bill…), we used the coach for sightseeing trips around Toronto and Montréal, the trip from Toronto to Montréal, as well as to visit Niagara Falls.
We also managed (somehow) to get free group tickets to go up the CN Tower (ok, as far as the first viewing platform but the glass floor was enough for me), I reckon overall that probably does represent good value, although it wasn’t a package tour as such, just stuff a Canadian on the team organised through various contacts with clubs at home, and through his office’s travel department.
Apparently, there’s not that much need for Scheduled nonstop services from Glasgow…
The only year round transatlantic flight from GLA is CO to EWR (I think the flight number actually continues on to LAX, now but as has been said, it’s probably not even the same a/c for the domestic leg), and that operates with a 757 during the winter (762 during Spring and Autumn, with the 764 operating during the summer).
The other summer only service is Air Canada 762 to YYZ.
As far as the codesharing with BA/AA goes, wasn’t that supposed to be from all UK airports, except the London ones? But I’ve looked at the BA website, and there’s no direct flight listed from GLA to ORD, they only quote me going via LHR, so maybe teh codeshare never happened?
Incidentally, talking of codeshares, the CO flight to Newark also has a flybe. flight number. 😮
‘Time is everything’ was teh Swissair slogan, which would also tie in with their two hubs… Zurich and Geneva.
nah, 75’000 travelling tims were a credit to the club in sunny spain.
The biggest mass migration for a club match in football history.
The Bhoys done us proud, but this is an avaition forum, so I won’t start off at a tangent again… (like in the UEFA schedule thread)
c’moan ra hoops!
Which league with only one competitor was decided before the final day of the season, the oh-so-exciting, all singing, all dancing, Premierboat (or ship, whatever you want to call it) or the oh-so-boring, only one team in it, Premier League?
😛 😛
nope, prior to getting their A320 family for short haul flights, all SR shorthaul flights were operated by DC9/MD-80’s, F100’s or A310’s, and anything else was operated by Crossair’s Saab 340’s/F50’s/146’s.
Balair got the 752, but it was around the same time SR went belly up, and BB was renamed Belair by owners and tour operators, Hotelplan, to demonstrate it’s independence from SR.
So I’m not sure the 757 ever operated with Balair titles, it certainly never operated for SR, though.
