BA 146’s would be a common sight at GLA since March, as they operate the new LCY service.
not quite… easyjet have A319’s on order, not A320’s… 😉
With a crew to passenger ratio of one to 39
using six single-class Boeing 767-300ERs with 257 seats.
so, let me get this straight, either someone can’t do their sums very well, or these flights will be manned by 6.5897cabin crew members…
so, is it 6 members of crew, in which case it’s a ratio of one crew member to every 42 and a bit passengers, or they’re using 7 crew members, in which case the ratio is just under one crew member to every 37 passengers. It can’t be this, as other wise they’d have said the ratio was 1:37, so it must be 6 crew, in which case the advertsiing is misleading.
Unless the 6 crew are in passengers seats, leaving the capacity only 251, although, even then, the ratio would be just under 42.

bloody hell, Occurrence: Incident that’s the technical term for a double forward salto, followed by a pirouette and finally a backwards loop, then?
er, in defence of Virgin Trains, I think the problem lies more with Railtrack, sorry, Network Rail, and the antiquated ex-BR rolling stock they have. Personally, I blame Mrs. T for privatising them, but then, I blame Mrs T. for everything.
But, seriously, they are introducing new trains on the Cross Country services, and I must be one of the few people who’ve been on a Virgin Train that arrived on time… two years ago from Euston to Glasgow Central. Having said that, I’ve also been on a fair few that have been just a little late… York-Sheffield and Sheffield-Edinburgh being those routes.
did anyone else get the feeling Horizon raised some issues and never really satisfactorily answered them?
And yes, I did find the AA handbook astonishing, that it appeared to use a rear mounted twin for demonstrations, which is decidely lighter than an A300 which I can’t really conceive as ending up upside down and needing rudder movements to correct it.
but going back to the open questions, does anyone have any details of the previous incidents they cited, an AA A300 at Miami in (I think) ’99 and an Interflug A310 (I never even knew they operated Western models) at Moscow Shermything in ’91 (now that did look like a roller coaster ride from hell 😮 )? Can’t recall having heard of either before, and surely they were instrumental to the narration of the AA587 incident.
yeah, certainly Swiss don’t seem to be in any immediate trouble, although at the AGM on Tuesday, 500 ex-Crossair Pilots mounted a silent demonstration outside against the Swiss Express Regional rebranding, and even carried a Coffin with a wreath mourning the passing of Swiss.
But basically, this has been an ongoing thing ever since Swiss was founded, as the former Crossair pilots are on very different wage structures to the former Swissair pilots, and I believe they still have two seperate Unions.
yeah, but it’s a right pain in the arse, certainly Victoria dosen’t have lifts down to the tube station, so you have to balance your luggage down the Escaltors (if they’re working) or carry them down Stairs if they’re not…
Frankly, I’d think the best plan would be to stay away from Central London as possible. Which brings the added bonus of not having to deal with too many Cockneys.
it’s something like 15 quid one way for teh Heathrow express… which takes about 15 minutes…
in the days leading up to the final (including, presumably, the morning of teh game itself) on the 21st, ie 2 weeks today.
top of the league. 😀
didn’t they have enough bricks to prop it up in the normal fashion?

don’t think much of your french grammar, Adrian… :p
‘Cherie’ is feminine, ‘Cheri’ is masculine, as is ‘mon’. :p 😉

I’ll probably already be in Seville when the Jumbo’s arrive to pick up the Celtic fans. I’ll be leaving the Sunday prior to the game. I’ll hopefully have time in Seville to snap them arriving though.
We’re all off to Sunny Spain, E viva España

well, when I say ‘we’ I exclude myself, as I can’t afford it . *sigh* and anyway, i don’t have a ticket.
There’s also VLM from LCY, but the cheapest quote I can get for them is £73.70 return…
