who are you flying out of Heathrow with?

If it’s BA, you can probably get a voucher off them for free travel on the direct Bus (called Speedlink or something).

I’ve only transferred LHR-LGW once, arriving LHR on Crossair from BSL (this was before the flights were codeshare), and flying across the pond to PIT with BA from LGW, all I had to do was go to the BA customer services desk in T1 arrivals (which was admittedly a bit of a walk from T2), show my onward ticket, and they gave me the voucher.

As far as I can remember, the bus was about £15 otherwise, although don’t quote me on that, it was 6 years ago.

And T5 is right, don’t even consider a taxi unless you’ve just won the lottery… it’s about 25 Miles, and at the rate you get charged in London, it’d probably be around a hundred quid.

And 4 hours isn’t as long as it sounds; depending on the time of day, it can take 75-90 minutes to get round the M25 from Gatwick to Heathrow, plus you have to go through security again at Heathrow, having already passed through baggage reclaim at Gatwick (Incidentally, I’d pick my bags up and check them in again at LHR, my bags were 3 days late arriving in the States after they failed to make it to Gatwick despite being through checked).

yeah, Ren posted about ten days ago that Electra had been sacked by Air Scotland, and that Air Holland would be operating their flights, I think the news worthiness of the story was more that BAA had impounded the Electra planes.

Is Ian Skelley not on the board down Edminceton Drive way? In which case, I hardly see Tiger having much to do with it…

Although, Tiger’s show was well past the Eye in the Sky time slot, surely (I don’t think George Bowie’d have a problem with it… ;)).

I believe Radio Clyde used to use this ‘Bell Mob that got knocked out of Europe by a Czech pub team’ (that’d be a Bell R*nger, then…;) ) for traffic reports.

my first thought was the same as Adrian’s, it’s Crossair, all over again. As for Swiss Sun, well, that’s Balair, by a different name.

As to how they’ll reduce overheads, well, I suspect it’ll be the same way it was before, with the regional crews being paid a lot less than the mainline crews, basically it’s a franchise operation.

so there’s your next difference, the Fokker has bigger overwing exits, while the 717 has an extra window between it’s smaller exits.

the A300-600 and A310 are both still in production, so in theory, the best replacement for ageing aircraft would just be a new airframe.

But I do think the A330-500 will be ideal, if it ever comes about, it would complete the cirlce, and guarantee cockpit commonality over the whole Airbus fleet, with it fitting in nicely between the A321 and A330-200.

you seem to have hit the ‘make it look as old as if it were taken the last time a Scottish team was in the European cup final’ instead of the ‘resize’ button…

yeah, but only on the 75/76, and wasn’t that a cost cutting excercise as they were developed together?

After all, none of their aircraft since have had commonality…

Neither currently have CoA’s, Alpha Alpha’s was suspended on the 24th Februray 2001, and Alpha Bravo’s expired on September 19th 2001.

I don’t know if the CAA would let them fly without the CoA or not.

Incidentally, here’s the expiry date of the rest of the fleet’s CoA’s:

    Alpha Charlie 16/5/2005
    Alpha Delta 3/12/2004
    Alpha Echo 18/7/2005
    Alpha Fox 11/6/2004
    Alpha Golf 3/4/2005
