Another sad day for UK aviation. Thats every airport in the north with a low cost operation now.
The north of Ing-ur-lund you mean, surely… :p
Low cost operations at ABZ, EDI and GLA are pretty sparse…

Glasgow Airport is talking about introducing a Β£1 pick up and drop off fee for motorists visiting the airport. I think the public will vote with their feet on this one.
They shouldn’t even consider that till they get the (long over due) train link up and running…
I mean, much as you obviously like Love Street, I can think of better sights to welcome foreign travellers to Scotland who are taking the Arriva bus to Gilmour Street station… π
:S seems totally pointless to me… :S
Not that I’ve ever been to Heathrow by car, but considering that the Heathrow Express is Β£16 one way, it just dosen’t seem to make any sense whatsoever for people to access the place.
I’ve only once had Heathrow as my ultimate destination on a trip, and took the Airbus into Euston that time (years and years ago) (i’ve also once had to take the Bus to Gatwick for a connection).
I’ve checked in at Heathrow twice, both times arriving by Bus (once the Airbus on the return trip, and once the Bus from Oxford), although almost all my air trips I’ve transferred at LHR.
But it seems to me that if Livingston goes ahead with this, people will look to use Gatwick/Stansted/Luton more, which will really just cause congestion…

from BBC News online
Four people have suffered serious burns after a Russian-built MiG-21 fighter jet crashed in a residential area in India.
The plane came down in the city of Ambala in the northern state of Haryana, injuring three women and a child.
This is the second Indian fighter plane to crash into a civilian area in the past four days.
The pilot of the aircraft is reported to have bailed out and landed safely.
Indian Air Force officials told the BBC the fighter jet crashed almost immediately after taking off from the Ambala Air Force Base shortly after midday local time.
Reports said the aircraft hit some houses close to a state government milk plant about 1.5 kilometres (one mile) from the Ambala Airbase.
District administration officials who rushed to the crash site to supervise rescue operations said no one appeared to have been killed.
A full search of the site was ordered.
Indian Air Force relief and rescue squads, which also reached the site of the crash within minutes of the accident, have begun trying to tackle a fire that broke out after the crash.
Last Friday, a MiG-23 jet crashed into some village houses in the neighbouring state of Punjab killing a total of five people and injuring several others.

Couldn’t be anything to do with Glasgow playing Embra at Hughenden?
I was up there for two games in December, and both times the match ball was flown in by Royal Navy SeaKing.
Having said that, kickoff was scheduled for 7:30, so it was probably a bit late for that…
