Is it only Terminal 3 that’s having the extra airbridges installed?
Surely Terminal 4 or Terminal 5 (if they move with BA) will also need them if Qantas operates the A380? Or are they just not going to operate it on LHR routes?
Or is T5 being built with them as spec (hence their not being mentioned here), and T4 being left as is?
Obviously Qantas are the only user of T4 who currently have 380’s on order… I assume they’ll move to T5 along with codeshare partner BA’s other longhaul operations once it’s built?
I’m assuming that neither Air France nor Lufthansa would want to operate the 380 on LHR routes, alleviating the nescessity to have T2 modified. Will there be provison for Emirates’ 380’s at LGW, or will that just be on the LHR route?
For those of you not familiar with LHR, all the other current 380 customers operating to LHR use T3 (Singapore Airlines, Emirates and Virgin Atlantic).
Although, does anyone know who ILFC’s are destined for?
don’t quite see that… unless you’re suggesting a startup should be called refugeeair or illegalimmigrantair to target the correct passenger groups… 😉
Nahm, but, in all seriousness… I don’t see that the airlines can do anything about it short of paying for more Customs officals to be on duty… and considering the amount of layoffs in the industry, anyway, I can’t quite see that happening…
Thomas Cook (the Travel agents) have been operating for something like 150 years, now, I believe… so no, I don’t think he’s still alive.
And why would JMC now be bothered when it’s been operating with that name for so long, anyway…
Quite apart from which… with a middle name like that, he must surely have been a Scottish referee rather than a travelagent…
yeah, it maybe a similar lease to SAA as bmi’s lease of their A330’s to SAA…
Can’t see that LH would want to get rid of their 340’s, they’re only ten odd years old, and LH have never been keen on operating ETOPS across the pond (Except for Privatair’s BBJ from DUE to EWR… Incidentally, this service is soon to be operated by a Privatair ACJ)
huh… never mind that…
how about daisy cutter it like Thompson? 😀 😎 :p 😉

anyway, shouldn’t this be in the general forum?
Could it be G-XXEA?

mind you, I dunno enough about Helichoppers to know the difference between a Sikorsky and an Augusta… Choppers ain’t really in my field of interest
yeah, the full CAA registry is at http://www.caa.co.uk/srg/aircraft_register/ginfo/search.asp
Kind of remind me of the old Northwest Orient scheme.

dunno about that… Star would still have Air Canada in the North American market…
What would happen to oneworld if American were to dissapear… oneworld would be left without a foothold in the biggest market in the World…
Do you mean LG (Luxair) or LX (Swiss)?
What’s the big deal about red dots?
A lot of you had trouble with the new JAL scheme, now you have a problem with EI putting their web address on the fuselage?
Come now, I find it more aesthetically pleasing than some charter schemes…
Boeing can’t just have something up their sleeve… they can’t just say ‘ok, here’s our brand spanking new aicraft (a misnomer from Boeing if there ever was one…). Now, who wants to buy it?…
The point is, they’ve already missed the boat for the top end of the market’s orders, as those that can afford that size of aircraft have already commited to Airbus.
Aircraft aren’t something you order today and pichk up tomorrow…
aye, but without working for them…
aye, you can stop showing off, now… :p
my list is…

I’ve flown with Air France from CDG to YYZ, so that dosen’t really count, being an english speaking country, so the only flight I’ve been on that hasn’t involved one of:
UK Airport
British or American crew
English or American speaking destination
was on Crossair from BRU to BSL a year or two ago. Safety demo was in English (can’t quite remember what else, though, although I speak both French and German, anyway).
IFE, well, it was an hour’s flight on a Saab (340 outbound, 2000 inbound), so, come on, you didn’t really expect any, did you… 😉
Actually, no, I’ve also flown Air France ZRH to CDG and back, and they only made announcements in French and English. So there you go.
Only thing about Lufthansa is the Sauerkraut in the food… 😉 😀 😛
