    Moggy,
I’m simply trying to solicit “the British pride” on a case of total indifference of military and political authorities!

this is how the story ends:
an intrepid group of experts lead by Manna ventured into the Egyptian desert
to recover a P-40 and about the fate of the pilot …..who cares about!

    Andy,
I think we should not expect anything from these people,
if it will come out some results will only be for the personal initiative of some irreducible!

An important novelty revealed by an eyewitness to the discovery of P40 Copping:
the direction of the landing aircraft and the trace of scrap is from west to east and not north-south direction.
This contrasts with what reported by Arido / Qattara that describe the location and landing north-south direction!
Maybe Tim Manna could be a judge of these two versions on the location of the wreck and the direction of landing.

I want to thank Michael and Dave for the valuable information given and ask for an extra effort to have more data on the German side because these Italian fighters were escorting a squadron of JU87 and in that battle were involved around 40 planes.
The aim of my research is to know the fate of two pilots on two Italian Macchi 200 shot down by the RAF and/or SAAF day 7th dec 1941 hours 11.45 am. in the area of El Adem and Bir el Gobi .
The two Italian fighters and the pilots were never found.
The names of these brave pilots are:
    Cap Armando Farina
    Ten Guido Sturla

    Thanks again

With these examples do not exist anymore heroes and patriots in western countries ….. and conflict will not be solved with professional soldiers!

It is funny how the people today care more about planes buried rather than trying to bury their pilots!
(Spit Burma over 3000 posts – Pilot unburied in the desert less than 500 posts)

Mark, I agree with you, but we have to start something!
Perhaps the idea of the pilots or pensioners is curious but it is important
to join forces and do something with our own strength because no other
is more interested in the research of Dennis!

    Laurence,
if we do not find in the RAF three young pilots available
we will have to fall back on three brave pensioners, I’m there … who else ?

The “Arab Spring” began in 2010 and since then it has been found the P40, “visited” by several expeditions and it was dismantled and taken away. Tourism in Egypt has continued without any restrictions!
So I think that today’s social climate is not different from that of yesterday and that is not the main issue for this type of search.

Jack thanks for the encouragement, I hope others can support this idea !
First of all for such initiative must have the consent of the family of Copping so who
is in contact with the family could seek advice.
For the competitors we have to find three RAF pilots, young and brave that lend themselves
to a voluntary search of their old colleague.
The aim is noble … then by all means are justified !

Since the discovery of the wreck of the P40 was a media event that has affected the whole world.
I propose to use the same channel to sponsor the search for the remains of Dennis Copping!
Parachute or abandon an experienced competitor in the same spot landing of 70 years ago,
with a reserve of food and water for 4 days and entrust to him the instinct of salvation (a kind of reality)
The White Desert is the environment, the man and the survival kit are the ingredients …..
all controlled and taken up by the camera!
The challenge could be extended to three attempts and if not will be found the remains of Copping,
all gains paid by the media will be strictly invested to new targeted searches, controlled by a special commission.
This is just a different idea to move something and do everything possible to bring home Dennis!
I hope that BBC or other media will be interested in a project or format like this!
Comment with criticism and suggestions ……. at this point everything is constructive!
