Today, 71 years ago, he had to challenge the first long night in the desert…..
a memory and a prayer for Dennis Copping !

First of all, Bruce I can not open a petition at the MoD because I am not a British Citizen!
Second, why we always call into question the Egyptian authorities for the research of Dennis; has anyone ever made a formal request for search? In Egypt, in the El Alamein area still today are made expeditions in search of the missing soldiers, and I don’t think that there are particular difficulties in obtaining permits.
Third point, to bring out of the desert the wreck I am not aware MoD or the Egyptian Ministry of Defense was involved, simply a private expedition with the “right permissions” and the whole operation in silence and in a very short time!
Last point, about the discovery of the bones by the Italian expedition, I personally have never given credit for this discovery (see my posts) because there are no elements that led to the pilot. We still continue to give emphasis to these bones and DNA …..it is an alibi to waste time or turn off the interest for new research.
Excuse me if I was tough and direct but I’m too old and I do not know, at this rate, if I have enough time to see Dennis back home!

Why every time that we start to talk about Copping and P40 someone triggers a kind of psychological terrorism:
…… wait because there are big moves in progress
…… that area is frequented by smugglers and insurgents
…… now the political situation in Egypt is in revolt
    …… etc. ..
Why do we accept this, we have a moral obligation to do everything possible to bring home Dennis!

To be fair, the crew of both of those aircraft were easily found, and easily identified.

Regardless of the origin of the bones we are discussing elsewhere, this is a quite different situation.

    Bruce

    Not oversimplify:
The Americans took almost two years to the research of the “LBG” with a C130 aircraft, two helicopters Bell and large number of vehicles and men, and the search radius exceeded 150 km.
in a landscape like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpIwP_GT72I

The Italians took nine months of research with the support of helicopter pilots AGIP within 90 km. brought home 4 crew members!

The things that makes me sad in this story are the efforts and determination to bring home some piece of twisted metal and not the remains of a young British Hero who challenged the ruthless laws of the desert and of war!
Personally I am ready to contribute to bring home Dennis!

The Americans brought home first the crew of the “Lady be Good” and left the wreck in the desert.
The Italians took home the crew of the SM79 and have left the wreck in the desert. etc..

I’m still patiently waiting ……… but I think it will not be out anything new!
After 70 years + 1 year “of straw and words” I think it’s time to act and do new research to bring Dennis back home.

The team Qattara/Arido can judge the probability of the remains and wait for a possible DNA test
or start studying a plan “B” for new searches.

But if those were not the remains of Copping have you thought of a plan “B” to continue research …….. or all will be forgotten?

Perhaps the reasons why the authorities did not consider appropriate to do DNA test on the bones found is because there are no elements and items relating to Copping (no complete skeleton, no clothes, no military badges etc..)
Given that the desert is a cemetery in the open and in this region was also lost the army of Cambyses (50,000 people) for this the discovery of human bones is frequent…… then the skepticism of the authorities !

At this point I think the fate of Coping is almost forgotten…..and his remains will rest forever in the immensity of desert !!

For me it will be a fateful weekend, learn more about the fate of Dennis
Copping and know the future fate of Italy (political elections)!
I hope positive in both cases!
