    Its very strange that little is known about this restoration team and its efforts to bring this girl back.
    Its been 3 years almost since the last post, does anybody have any news about this Lancaster ??

    Paint strip is now finished and the hangar is open for the general public. The airframe assessment/survey starts on monday

    Thats excellent progress Fingers crossed the inspection doesn’t reveal to much corrosion etc

    Aside from the markings, how accurate does the Lancaster represent those used in filming?
    I would expect they had some non-wartime equipment or aerials since they were still active RAF aircraft?

    The aircraft carried treaded tyres,
    0.5 twin calibre guns in rear turret,
    new ASI aerial,
    larger rear canopy astro-dome
    Squadron codes slightly larger than wartime sizes
    and even the camouflage markings were simply Brown painted over the standard BC Grey used at the time.

    The Lancasters used were brought out of storage for the filming

    A B25, as used in the film to drop George into Norway . . .

    I have never seen evidence of the reported statement that these aircraft carried dual markings.,
    I have only ever seen G-George, P-Posie and M-Mother.
