I am pretty certain that the IBCC at Lincoln had a poll of sorts and the Hatchette model (Weekly parts issue) they had, was built in the guise of FFF
Thats absolutely amazing . . . a One-man project.
He is to be congratulated and something that should get support from every American with an interest in aviation.
She also appeared in the TV drama ‘Family at War’
Good grief
That does appear sudden.
I was only talking to him in the summer about trying to make a model of the Control tower that stood at Woodhall Spa . . . .
RIP and Blue skies all the way up . . .
There are photos of ‘Grimsby 1′ in a publication called Grimsby At War’ published by the Grimsby Telegraph newspaper.
The Caption states
“Two Spitfires, Grimsby 1 and II built with the £15,000 raised in the town. Grimsby 1 survived the war but the second machine paid for by Edwin Bacon — was lost over France in 1942”
The photo in the book shows Grimsby II and possibly the close up of the name of No 1
There is also a programme cover shown for ‘Grimsby Wings for Victory Week’ Target: £500,000 Spitfires are shown on the cover
Hope that helps.

I hope very much to visit Canada and visit each Lancaster in turn . . ..
Post-war ‘dambusters’

There is an example at Duxford in their Mk.X Lancaster.

There is a full film of this station on You-tube as I think I recognize many of the scenes . . .
I shall try and find it.
Are they your photographs ?

Goxhill Watch office was heavily camouflaged with paint when it was constructed, perhaps the Health and Safety gang has decreed that pale green will make it more visible to the modern day pilot ???
Wow an AEC aircraft refueller !! they must be quite rare.
I wonder where that came from and of its history ??
A 50 Squadron kite, I wonder which ‘veteran’ markings she will carry on the Port side, artwork below the pilots window ??
