So LAVA, has InAF claimed the 3 kills?? If they really occured..the pilot would have been a national hero by now like the guy who shot down the Atlantique.

Seems like InAF has not claimed any kills…why not?

Phrozen I did not say equal, when I said fair, I meant odds of about 2 to 1, PAF can live with those odds…..

    oh ok, sorry for misintepretation.

then it should be quiet a fair fight, adn that suits the
    PAF to the ground….

Sorry to Disagree Brother, for PAF it has always been and will be an unfair fight, and that goes on for all the forces for this nation 8-10 times smaller than its enemy. PAF is made to live with that fact, especially the pilots, and they’re living with it for 50+ years. I’ll be shocked if things equal out, because they arent supposed to, even the aim is not to be equal to InAF, its supposed to be good enough to deny air control over Pakistani Lands.

why are you dicussing a project on CAD in this thread…when it has nothing to do with Pakistan. Guys just rest it, let them say whatever they want, or if you want to reply, take it to Indian or PAK-FA thread since PAK-FA more relevant there..so take it there, since this not the thread for it. No need to reply to Lava’s comments here…besides ppl are still speculating how the plane looks like..let alone when it enters the service :D. For PAK-FA, two threads relevent are the indian AirForce thread and the PAK-FA Thread. and For J-XX there is Chinese thread.

Doesnt matter who started it now, finish it somewhere else.

Pakistan can’t tell France to do anything because India is a massively paying customer, you think India’s 12bn USD order for new planes and technology will be dropped for Pakistan? Next, the Russians, hello, Pakistan was an enemy of Russia for decades, you think the Russians will just “forget” that? We were one of the catalyists to the Soviet Union’s downfall weren’t we? Any weapon we get from Russia, you can thank China for it, given that in most cases, they do come through China.

As for new nuclear delivery systems, one must first ask when Pakistan will use nuclear weapons, it’ll more or less be when it is in a tough position, near loss in a conventional war.

There’s a difference between Russia and Soviets and so is between its policies, things have changed.

Now to the person who beleives fighting once-upon U.S. recruited Extremists is “so-called” war on terror, India is 8 times bigger, offcourse its got bigger interests and influences, but money talks, France will sell to anyone, so will USA, and lately, Russia is showing a similar trend..and this is proven.

This is just the starting, so far all these things are comming from the obligation money, PAF has yet to spend. I think they’re waiting for IAF to make decision, since prices would be high at this time 😉 until IAF makes decision.

Moderators like it if you agree with them, so they don’t delete that. But they do NOT like it if you argue with their friendly helping hands in keeping these discussions somewhat tasteful, hence this bit is MODERATED

and Arthur put it really well, if you guys are really concerned about this thread, you wont feed the flamers. Just ignore them from now onwards. Let them say anything they want, if you reply, you’re no different from them.

WASHINGTON, Dec 24: Pakistan has already placed orders for three main items in a $1.2 billion arms package the United States has offered to sell, US sources said on Friday.

The items include eight P-3C Orion planes, 2,000 TOW-2A anti-armour guided missiles and six Phalanx Close-in Weapons Systems for Pakistani warships.

“The Pentagon is busy making arrangements for delivering these weapons to Pakistan,” the sources told Dawn. Funding for these weapons will come from the $3 billion economic and military assistance package President George W. Bush promised to Pakistan two years ago.

Pakistan qualified for the proposed arms package on Dec 16 after the US Congress did not act to stop it within the stipulated 30-day period. On Nov 16, the Bush administration had notified Congress of its intention to sell sophisticated weapons to Pakistan.

The notification said the Pentagon could conclude negotiations with Pakistan on the proposed sale unless Congress acted to stop it within 30 days. The $1.2 billion arms package would be the largest US foreign military sale to Pakistan since sanctions against the country were lifted in late 2001.

The costliest items in the package are the P-3 aircraft, at an estimated value of $970 million. The command-and-control capabilities of these aircraft are expected to improve Pakistan’s ability to restrict the littoral movement of guerillas along its southern border and enable it to maintain integrity of its borders.

Pakistan intends to use the P-3 Orion to develop a long-needed fleet of maritime and border surveillance aircraft. The P-3s are designed to hunt ships and submarines and will enhance the ‘regional influence’ of the Pakistani navy. The TOW anti-armour guided missiles were valued at $82 million, while the Phalanx weapons systems were put at $155 million.

So wew know..they’re the anti-armour version of the TOWs.

NEW DELHI, Dec 21: India on Tuesday successfully test-fired for the first time a surface-to-surface version of the supersonic missile BrahMos it jointly developed with Russia, the Press Trust of India reported.

No booster tests, no propellant tests! Somehow I find it hard to believe.

tests of components hardly make it to the newspapers in Pakistan..until the whole thing is ready.
