Hi all
The Lightning is owned by Parkhouse Aviation and was being restored to be put on display on a rounderbout close to DERA at farnborough. But by the looks of joes pics its not gonna happen anytime soon.
Scott C
I have to agree
How can a striped out airframe be called the best preserved example i dont know what the duxford example is like inside but i bet it is far better.
Scott C
Hi all
Steve the buccaneer that was in the bar isn’t anymore it was removed sometime last year. To get it out it was cut up i think somebody bought it to strip it for spares before scrapping the rest.
Andrewman
The GR.3 at elvington was just a fuselarge and the wings are sea harrier. myself and a friend that used to work at elvington rebuilt it.
Scott C
Ok
The answer is easy bring the furies back to uk rebuild one to static and return it to an museum in iraq. And rebuild the other to fly here in uk in iraqi markings which could also be flown in iraq.

Thanks Gareth
I like the one with the brake paracute behind her its takes us about 3 hours to pack it and 3 seconds to deploy it then it had to be repacked for the run on monday.

Hi
Not only is the cockpit small but try being in there with all your kit on for 30 mins to do a taxi run you sweat in places you didnt know you had places. I hate to think what it was like to fly a mission in her
Long live Lusty Lindy…..

Hi Andrewman
The victor dose taxi a couple of times a year apart from the airshow and they are not public events. As for the aircraft going undercover i cant see it happening anytime soon
