T-50 using the M88 rather than an F4x4.

How about, you think before writing a ridiculous reply like you did. Hey if you don’t like it, then leave this thread.

Neither the F135 nor F414 were around for F-16A. F-16A was the basis of F-16/79. *** removed by moderator***

It makes more sense for F135 in F-35.

Perhaps F-16XL should have been proposed using an F101. But that’s old water under the bridge.

The F-16/79 was a weaker export than F-16A. Different reason for being than an up engine program.

F-16/79 using a TF-41 w/ reheat would have been better. They also could have used TF-30. The Speys were ramping up to 30K thrust by then, although that particular model was more like an F101.

Throw in the towel, it’s obvious Brazil is in (upward) decline. They better scale back the idea they can afford F-16 or F/A-18 and go for a joint program like F-CK-1… or not. Realistically their economy is sustainable for a Rafale buy. The Olympics is the blood of saints spilt for the luxury of the ridiculously rich IMHO, but that is a different issue. Brazil needs the modern fighters before the Olympics so they can look good on global television broadcasts. F-5’s just are not sexy enough. /rant mode

Nobody can keep doing business with Brazil if nobody is in charge to make any deal – ANY DEAL – happen. Who runs that show. It’s disappointing we are half way through 2013 and still no announcement on a deal – ANY DEAL.

I love those wingtanks integrated like that, like the mighty Valiant.

Almost brings a tear to my eye, much like the A-10.

You could rebuild the B-52 fleet for the price of 3-4 B-2’s. But if you aim for something a little less of a hot rod and piggyback on lessons since the B-2 to build an affordable unit then it’s possible to have dozens.

If any bomber was probably going to be suitable to reducing its radar signature, the Avro Vulcan was it. I like to consider the B-70 as the American version of the idea. So if we forget price and practicality and revive any old design, go for the B-70.

It’s hard to beat the efficiency of the flying wing. Blended wing body may be the compromise.

Whereas the Russian BWB equivalent incorporates swing wings for the supercruise leg.

The difference today is merely the filtering, otherwise it’s still useful for some information. The biggest problem is vulnerability.

If any program was going to rebirth it needs to be the B-70, not the B-1B. Wait, the Cold War is over…

    B-2Lite makes the most sense.

Inflight as in flying. I’ve seen plenty on the ground.

Before Rafale there was the TF-102A Delta Dagger trainer. I cannot help but to think it influenced the Rafale styling.

Seriously, these inflight photos of the TF-102A are rare commodity. I wish there were more with better quality.
