The radar from the F-35 uses software form the F-22 and vice versa. The F-22 has the more elaborate radar array. Its silly to suggest the F-35 will be more suited to any particular mission.
They haven’t seeded the engine manufacturer so the L-15 is all conjecture at this point. Seems like the JJ-9 is just cheap enough and reliable enough to meet the plaaf needs ATM. There just isn’t a sufficient need for L-15 to develop.
Is it the original EJ200 or will it be the next generation of the EJ200? You’d think it’s offered on the premise that the Typhoon will get preferential consideration in the MRCA competition. Anyone think an MKI-like Typhoon customization may be on the horizon?
Good bye and thank you Bill..
Your Observer’s Book of Aircraft was a great catalyst for my interest in aircraft.. both professional and personal.
RIP
Ditto.
Speaking of rd-93, is PAF securing used MiG-29 engines for their future JF-17 fleet? It would help them to maintain a surplus in the event of some unforeseen circumstances. Geoplotics can be a real bitch as the world turns.
Same leverage that blocked the engines for JF-17’s??
Yes. The same politics that delayed the rd-93. The ws-10 would offer a solution with less strings attached.
Will the PAF have to operate a WS-10 powerplant derived J-10A/B since the Indian government has so much leverage over the sale of the AL-31 engines by Russia?
Someone posted this image on MP.net but the two photos don’t quite match to me.

Quite interesting. The guy went to a lot of work to hide the piecing of two pictures together to create one final image. All the landmarks of the original body are distorted, but still remain in some fashion. Convicting evidence of the photoshop is the removal of key landmarks in the background. They must have been inconvenient. 🙂
It helps if you alter brightness and gamma to see the p/s work.
Probably more appropriate to ask this in the “missiles and munitions” subforum.
Considering Rimmer has 117 posts inside of a month, mostly in the last Paskistan Air Force thread, you can guess whom the mods will pick to give a vacation. Please, Rimmer, give the forum a rest for a week and then try to rejoin within the intended spirit of the forum.
An offensive team that can dictate tempo is a defense.
The WS-10 is a F110-clone, not an AL-31 replacement. They took a civilian engine core and tried to militarize it.
S-37 tests boom refueling?

Check this pick out from the same set of links:
There is no road dispersal strategy in Romania, we have very few decent roads, and none can support fighter ops like in Sweden.
During the Cold War they operated the early model MiG-21 from dirt roads during exercises on at least two occasions.
Everytime I see the JF-17 it makes me think of the “Phat” line of toys. Its like they took the F-20 Tigershark and shortened it up to make it ‘phat’.
