NATO ought to at least get troops into Poland as a training exercise in response.

Hey, they didn’t nickname the A-7 the “SLUF” for nothing.

    SLUF – short little ugly…

Red Flag typically likes to train their pilots for a game involving an uphill battle. I can’t see a benefit to having F-22’s being unleashed on easy prey.

If they ever make a TopGun 2 the F-CK-1 would make a nice MiG-28 replacement. 🙂

Or pull a processor board. Really, it cannot be too difficult to disable one. The fact they are flying them all the way there has definitely got to be a big step up for India’s AF to leg it across the ponds. Its not like Nellis is a hop, skip, and a jump away.

Buddha, no need for tac-pods when you have F-22’s flying stealth overhead monitoring it all on their scanners.

I think this last little stunt will prevent Western nations from selling Georgia any fighters. They are best served with an air defense network that can stay on the move and hide, much like the Serbs had. We really don’t need them having modern attack planes to batter those freedom fighters. Don’t forget that the UN was behind Russia originally on this matter, not Georgia.

The attrition rate surely increases with the speed increase. Let’s keep them bottled up until they actually need the speed. Otherwise we’ll be replacing airframes that much quicker.

Me-262 also introduced an all cannon armament, too. Some of the other bomber destroyers used cannon, but they always seemed to carry machineguns, too.

So neither the Foxbat or Foxhound families used titanium in the same respect as the Blackbird? Interesting theory there.

btw – I chose Mustang because it took the air war to the enemy whereas fighters in its day didn’t have the legs to do so. They also incorporated the ability to lug underwing drop tanks which caught on with future fighter designs fairly well.

OT – So what new lessons should we learn from the exocet experiences later in the Persian Gulf?

Russian nuke subs have been into Cuban ports. Whats the difference if they deploy bombers or nuke subs in Cuban waters?

They can bring in Christian Bale for the new version. I hear he can really scold women.

Let’s make it ultra absurd and have Tom teach jet jockies from the scratch how to fly their F-22’s during a great budget crunch – democratic presidency anyone? You can have him use a Super Hornet to catch an F-22 in its cross-hairs just to prove he still “has it”. Then give them a shoe string budget to carry out a strike against the Iranians whom are armed by the French operating spectra-equipped Rafales. The Rafales bait Tom’s team into a missile trap of S-300’s just to keep it interesting before they move in for the kill on everyone but Tom and his girlie co-pilot whom somehow manage to hit the impossible target and fly on vapors back to their carrier…
