For some reason I was thinking it was only a twin engine plane like a Transall that snagged up Batman and his prey from the window. It was white and carried large underwing tanks much like a C-130.

The joker really steals the show. A little long for my tastes, but very unpredictable plot.

    Maybe they are ARM’s?

The F-18 in the background looks butt ugly in comparison.

If they intend to keep modernizing the F-15C’s and E’s then they should at least give them distinctive roles. The F-15C’s should get some type of limited thrust vectoring to keep with the times. The F-15E’s should get bigger wings or something to extend its legs. The aerospace guys need the work.

What is your source for these interesting suggestions? I’ve never heard them before, or anything like them, and I’ve consulted a wide variety of references and witnesses.
    hps

I read it in an airpower mag I believe. But it was only the first of a few times I heard about the french giving them the iff codes. Consistency to the stories has only reinforced my opinion that it was true.

The french gave the British the codes to shut down the R.530’s so the Mirages were effectively neutered before they even dueled. (They even gave them the exocet iff codes, too, but the English technicians screwed the pooch on implementation on that end.) The french sold out the Argentinians because the morale and political consequences of the English losing during the Cold War were far to great. The failure of the British to win would of potentially destabilized half of Europe.

I always liked the Super Etendard’s legendary status after the Falklands/Maldivas War. More legend than reality. The A-4 Skyhawks of the time period were probably superior machines in many ways, they just did not get the press. The exocet and its accompanying radar set were the only real pluses for the SuE at the time. Otherwise they were just filling a niche role.

Yip, I been thinking about the MQ-1, MQ-9 and such, not even N-UCAS. Or does anybody plan to attack a real enemy in the near future, one that couldn’t be taken care of with what’s at hand?

The superior morale posture is to defend. Doesn’t sound like uav’s are very good at anything but cakewalks.

The sidewinder launch looks more like a zuni launch.

That Hispano HA 200 looked bad for a purpose-built trainer.

All-time has to be that french plane during ww2 that had a short fuselage, that crazy bent wing, and the quad machinegun for the rear-seater.

People are knocking the “fat”-ness of the F-35. You don’t cram more into less space without getting phat.

I always thought they should have modernized the Lightning instead of replacing the thing wholesale. If they had given it the rb199 fed through more traditional intakes and first-gen Foxhunter in a solid nose then they could have foregone the f.2 Tornado.

Here’s my rendition of the upgraded Lightning…
