Assembly is connecting parts, not inclusive to the production of said parts.

From what if modellers website. The guy mixed TSR.2 with A-5 Vigilante and Su-24 kits.

Or the government could authorize P&W to parallel develop improvements in phases to correct deficiencies. I personally feel GE getting cut from F-35 development was a political folly. Corporate donors basically culling favors to get exclusive right of sales. No bone for the taxpayer.

Secondhand Typhoons would be a good impetus to draw down other airframes. Improvement in the quality it replaces. Help the seller cope with their own force affordability by keeping more of the overall type in existence.

EF partners need to look at Tranche pre-2 exports to sustain Tranche 2/3 partners.

I’d love to see Iraq purchase J-10IQ or J-11IQ and try to operate them. Quite frankly after a couple of years they would be right back begging for F-16IQ. Love or hate the F-16, but it’s of solid a platform that most any air force can afford.

Similar bandwidth, different priorities. Link 16 is an all-purpose connection and packet based. The Russians use their bandwidth for tasks that fit their needs with communications over it mode based. The Russians was backward compatible with analog systems.

I figure they keep using negotiations like some buyers use change orders.

They had the rough outline for X cost. Now they are amping up the X agreed cost through negotiations that fall outside the original agreed price. If they cannot deliver at X cost or the buyer will not agree in the price window then the negotiations done originally were in bad faith. The latter doesn’t appear to be the case.

The M53 was probably not the best engine to pit against rivalries offered for F-15. In hindsight I’m not so sure Mirage 4k offered any promises that EAP did not already make, plus it had a larger projected customer base. EJ200 was not ready by that time, but it was a technology leap over the M53. France chose to downscale when they designed the Rafale to make it affordable. Would the 4k be affordable in production is the bigger question.

Don’t bother explaining technical formulae when he doesn’t get it. Su-27 has other limitations than fuel for its range, but I suppose magic pixie dust is supposed to fix that. I believe lukos reads formulas strictly in algebraic form and cannot wrap his mind around the idea of abstract relationships and juggling multiple values within a single relationship. He still seems to think fuel consumption is linear.

I believe you meant ‘cruise does not mean maximum dry thrust’ or military thrust.

The Rafale’s MRCA competition was over years ago yet no agreement. Stalling the agreement has raised costs. India pegged the deal’s value onto a currency that is in serious flux while their own currency waivers. Its a situation they created. Stalling the deal is their own bureaucracy. Dassault isn’t some green rookie. Unfortunately its looking like India’s leadership is exactly that.

EF discussion is not irrelevant any more than talk of extending MKI orders. It’s not a simple matter to extend MKI production. In reality it leans India further into Russia’s sphere of influence, which is why they have MRCA and LCA. EF operations puts pressure on Dassault to get the deal on track, MKI does not. Rafale and Typhoon are clearly designed to operate superior to MKI.
