Just seen the first episode in the Harry Potter saga from this nice box set.IMHO,it’s the most magical of all because it introduces us muggles to a fantastic wizarding world.It’s also good to see so many British actors in gainful employment,thanks to JKR’s insistence of using home-grown talent.

Another film I’m looking forward to is The Mist.At long last,it seems that a Stephen King horror has been done successfully.

Put ‘Idi i Smotri’ (or Come and See) in the player yesterday evening, having not seen it for a number of years. I remember the first time watching, i couldn’t bear it and walked out on it. Yesterday, i remembered why. Awful, depressing, horrible, sickening, disgusting, estranging, confusing… One of the most impressive films i know. Thoroughly recommended for those interested in war movies. Prepare to have your pitiful ideas of heroism and glory smashed.

Tim Burton has a plan for two 3D films.I can’t wait to see what he does with Alice.

Just sat through Halloween(2007).
The first 50 minutes or so fills in the back-story to Michael Myers past and,for gore-hounds,is worth a watch.The rest of the film,however,is a very bad re-make of a classic horror film.No character development at all and more plot-holes than you can shake a stick at.Michael is reduced to “the Asian girl with the long,dank hair”.As someone on IMDB said “A film about morons,for morons.”
