Great days.
The first time my missus ever went to an airshow was when we first met, 1997, what an event that was, Reds, Thunderbirds, Frecces, Patrouiles de France, Patrouiles de Suisse, Turks, B-2, F-117, fantastic weather too, must have been the USAF 50th anniversary, one of the best airshows ever.
Yes,it was the 50th,the calendar cover that year was dark blue, the crest title was “Fifty And Forward”,which included colour photo’s.It was also the 50th anniversary of supersonic flight and on show was a mock-up of Glamorus Glennis, the first plane my son “fell in love with” after seeing The Right Stuff.Still got one of the celebratory plastic bags (how sad am I ?)
Also remember the B2 Spirit fly-by escorted by 2 Eagles:eek: .
My burger was always “wet”,washed down with a beer, fished out of a large bath of iced water.
The first bit of good news.It seems that they CAN restore her.Depending on the funding,a tentative date of 2010 has been put forward befor we can see her in all her glory again.BUT,it’s all down to funding.A fund-raising concert has also been proposed.

Pirates Of The Caribbean:At World’s End.
At 2 hours and 48 minutes, this is another enjoyable romp following the story of “Captain” Jack Sparrow and his motley crew. It “sailes along at a rate of knots”.SFX are spot on,concidering there’s so much water (the hardest of all to pull off convincingly in CGI) ,as are the scenes where …
a pair of ships fighting it out on the rim of a maelstrom..
the ship going over the edge..
the final 3 ship battle (equal to or better than the battle scenes in Master And Commander).
I have enjoyed all 3 of these Disney films, based on their theme-park ride. There’s talk of a POTC 4,but IMHO,the concept is running out of steam. No matter how much this film makes, this is the perfect time to let the “world sail into the sunset”.
As thespians around the the world say “Always leave them wanting more”;)
But if they do make POTC 4,my bum will be back on seat 21,row A in the Royal Circle,at the Empire ,Leicester Square, just to see what happens next……
Stay untill the credits roll as there’s a couple of minutes of story added.
Gonna see The Pet Shop Boys at the Hamersmith Apollo today(Sunday),anyone wanna start up a music thread? Every other Board has one:cool:

I’m in love with Sophie Marceau…:D
And who wouldn’t be after her performance as Electra in The World Is Not Enough and as Princess Isabella in Braveheart.

Stone me.Recorded over 2 days at Abbey Road studios and paid for by the BBC 😎 .Considering their ages, some of these guys and gals were probably Teddy Boys and Girls. When Jive/Swing/Rock and Roll was fresh.Musically exiting times.
It seems that this music track is available as a download for under 80p and as a CD single.ALL proceeds going to Age Concern.
This puts the fun back into music;) .
