At least 8 fire appliances on site, which is very cramped.Sad news is that the ship is 100% ablaze.
A very sad day for Greenwich.
The World’s Fastest Indian.
For 25 years, the Director Roger Donaldson, wanted to make this tribute to Burt Monro,a guy who had a motor-cycle,designed to do 50mph.For over 40 years,Burt “tinkered” with his bike in his garden shed and,at the age of nearly 70,he sets out from his home in New Zealand on a once in “his” lifetime trip to the salt flats of Bonneville in the USA,just to see how fast his bike will go.
Hopkins finds the humour and determination of this “deaf old geezer” who overcomes his bad “ticker” and swollen prostrate,to beat the odds.
The rest is history.Burt’s records still stand 😀 .

Here here.He is named in This Report.
Perhaps if you bothered to read his posts you’d realise that Stormbird’s not “on the sauce”, he’s got MS. Still laughing?
Cheap shot Stephen.
Am I supposed to know every posters history ?
Apart from myself,Kicks,Arthur and Future Pilot were also unaware of Stormbirds probs.I will put him in my “to ignore” list to avoid any future embarrasement.
STORMBIRD262……no malice intended,that’s why I quoted so many Fawlty Towers quotes:cool: .

Stormbird262,untill I see references on G.D to…..
1)A Siberian Filagree Hamster (named Basil).
2)Hotel Inspectors who have a tendency to die during their duties.
3)Views From Bedroom Windows which don’t include herds of wilderbeast roaming majesticaly across the plain.
4)Hitting cars (the classic Mini) with a stolen rose bush, because an important meal has been ruined….
I really can’t see where you’re coming from.
May I suggest you lay off the “sauce” or wacky-bakky.Or perhaps, when you posted, your hormones were out of balance due to the time of the month;) .

I’ve had a bit of a musical week-end.Got myself a VIP Golden Circle ticket for Prince’s opening night at the Greenwich Dome (oops, sorry,The O2),so started off by slapping Prince-The Hits Collection DVD into the player. Then it was on to…..
The Blues Brothers 1980.
As Tony Hancock used to say “Stone me !” Was it really made that long ago???
If you haven’t seen this classic, the story is simple.Jake, fresh out of prison, and his brother Elwood, decide to re-form their old band and raise funds to save their old orphanage from closure. They drive a magical car, destroy more public property than Godzilla and end up being hunted by the Army—all to save a grumpy old Nun and her needy orphans.
IMHO this is THE best musical comedy ever made.It boasts a roster of talent that must be heard to be believed – Cab Calloway,James Brown,Aretha Franklin,Ray Charles and John Lee Hooker, all legends of the music industry. This would definatley be one of my “Desert Island Discs”.
Ray.
Jamie Fox achieves what few performers have in the tricky world of portraying genuine icons,to seemingly fuse with the spirit of the subject.
This is a cracking bio-pic and the sound-track’s not bad either:D .

Last night saw 28 WEEKS LATER at a preview at our local VUE. Goes on general release 11th.
Bloody to say the least, six people walked out can’t remember being in a film for a long time when that happened.
Paul
Apart from “bloody to say the least”,did you……. like, enjoy, dislike or hate it…and why. It’s a film which I am quite looking forward to seeing. Please tell me more:cool:

Me neither but over the years I have really enjoyed his direction on Bad Boys 1 and 2,The Rock,Armageddon ( I know that I’m in the minority here ) ,Pearl Harbour ( ditto ) and The Island. He certainly knows how to make an action movie and can’t really see how he can go wrong with this one.The teaser trailers look very good:D
