    A Sad Death

It’s all over after 30 years VHS Dies, age 30.Thank God I still have a SVHS copy of The Goonies recorded off the telly with NO adverts,’cause all the DVD releases that I have seen have two scenes cut out,but on some sets, are included in the extras section.Surely not to be included in a Special Edition/Director’s Cut/Limited Edition at a later date
Anybody else got a cherished film/movie on VHS,or even Betamax, that you would NEVER part with?

Also saw the Bond film – thought it was poor. None of the things that make a Bond film a Bond film were there. No ‘Q’, no gadgets, little humour. Story was weak and disjointed. Best ‘chase’ was early on and the poker game went on way too long.

Change the characters names and it would have just been another mediocre action film.

Would I see it again – no. Will I see another with DC as Bond – no

    barrythemod – can I bill you 😉

Did you not read the original story/early film reviews?.If you had then you would have expected NOT to see The Quartermaster or the many gadgets which have been associated with the old Bond franchise. Not to give too much away for the folks who have yet to see this film, the car doesen’t feature much either, apart from the world record rolling bit.
The whole point of the story was the poker game so you should have expected to see lots of hands dealt.
Bond is a bit like Star Trek re. the main charachter.I liked Kirk,I loved Picard,I hated Janeway.Brosnan,Connerey et al have had their day.Time to move on. 😎

Steve, this is a totally different Bond that we have got used to over the years.I loved the Connery and Brosnan era’s,but it is now time to move on.They have done it well.Get your butt down to your local multiplex and enjoy. If you don’t like it,bill me 😎

    Casino Royale:

Just came back from watching this gem of a movie on a 22.4 m wide cinema screen and the experience was exhilarating to say the least. The movie though a tad long for a bond flick is surprisingly driven by dialogs, characters and not gadgets for once. Daniel Craig excels as Bond and gives a performance that in my opinion is above and beyond anything I’ve seen in any other Bond movie barring those starring Sean Connery (though I feel compelled to rate Daniel even higher, I’ll wait till his second Bond flick). The sheer physicality, edginess, strength and emotions that he brings to his character is enough to keep you glued to the screen till the very end.
All in all I can safely say that James Bond has just taken rebirth and this time round it’s all for good. I can’t wait to see future Bond movies starring Daniel.

    ^
    what he said 😀
It’s bringing Bond back to street level but still containing the style. This is a 00 that you don’t wanna mess with. For once,it’s a film revolving around people and not set pieces or gadgets (the Aston Martin hardly gets a look in but does create a world record 😎 )with a few good twists and a couple of good chuckles in reference to the past Bond films.
    Set pieces……the crane chase,the machette fight in the stair-well(getting low-down and bloody),the sinking house,not forgetting the “I’ve got an itch”scene (Outch…..painfull)
Saw this at The Odeon Leicester Square and will see it a few times more at my local multiplex over the next couple of weeks.
BOND IS BACK,all we need now are some good new stories.
