Yes he was. Coincidentally I was thinking of starting a Radio Luxembourg thread (208) to see how many members would admit to remembering their introduction to rock and roll music, pre pirate radio days! 😀

Re my earlier post,K E Y N S H A M is in Bristol, not Essex(my mistake). To hear this classic radio ad click here and click on the “listen to the advertisement here” button

    A bit of Bond trivia

Which well known test pilot appeared in a Bond Film.
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
ANS : Peter Twiss in ‘From Russia with Love’ – Peter was Chief Test Pilot for Fairey Aviation but when that was sold to Westland he moved to Fairey Marine and they provided the boats for the chase across the lake. (actually a scottish loch) and he was one of the boat drivers. I was lucky enough to hear him talk last evening about his career and particularly the FD2.
He brought a few slides which included some of the boats and a very young Mr Connery.

More Bond trivia……The Aston Martin you see on screen doing the world record seven spins,is a montage of three cars, each costing £300,000.
£900,000 plus film costs for a scene that lasts for about 5 seconds. That’s Bond :diablo:

Sam Raimi is wanted to direct The Hobbit .Discuss 😀

    So,if PJ isn’t signing on,here’s a few who could…….

Paul Verhoeven, who brings in writer Joe Eszterhas,to punch up the script. The film now contains endless purient sex scenes and lines like “What’s it got in it’s pocketses? What kinda jerk-off question is that, asswipe?”

Guy Ritchie, who turns Bilbo Baggins into a small-time criminal who’s out of his depth doing one last job for Middle Earth Mr Big Smoug. However, despite cruedly splicing together mockney gangster nonesense with hobbits, goblins, elves and dragons, the results are still a thousand times more realistic than any of Ritchies’s own dismal crime capers.

Richard Curtis, who’s version is a critical success, retaining the book’s essential Englishness and Hugh Grant turns in an excellent performance as Bilbo.Unfortunatly, two weeks after the film is released, the charm and innocense of the book is permanantly lost when ‘Bilbo’ is found being “pleasured” in his car by a prostitute who looks a bit like a bloke.

George Lucas, who conclusively proved that his ability to make a good film disappeared the moment the final edit of The Empire Strikes Back was finished and applies his leaden touch to The Hobbit.Despite amazing special effects, the film features 20 hours of pointless back-story and love scenes that contain all the passion and romance of pleasuring yourself with a dish-cloth

Don Simpson, who, technicaly is a producer, not a director, and he’s dead, but it would be great to see The Hobbit made by the pill-popping,sexually debased loony who gave the world such cultural gems as Top Gun and Flashdance.Simpson brings his own inimitable style to The Hobbit by giving Bilbo a 500cc motorbike and replacing all the other main characters with Elven hotties in leotards and leg-warmers.
