Put The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0914798/ into the player yesterday.Set in Germany in the 40’s,it’s a story about a little 8 year old boy who’s father gets a promotion,so his family moves to the countryside.The new house has a big garden with a large fence at the bottom and our little hero soon makes friends with another 8 year old who lives on the other side of the fence.
Their two lives couldn’t be more different.One-well educated,dressed in clean clothes and very healthy.The other-dirty,always hungry and very scared.
BTW I forgot to mention that our little hero’s father is in charge of a concentration camp.
The climactic ending is harrowing and totally unforgettable!
