Watched It Came From Outer Space at The National Film Theater a few years ago.It was shown in 3D and glorious black and white but it didn’t improve the story or acting at all.God knows how it won a Golden Globe.

Just taken ATONEMENT out of the player and that’s where it’s gonna stay as I don’t ever want to watch it again.Admittedly it is well acted and looks very good but I thought the story average at best.

Doesn’t anybody among us watch kitsch fifties man in a rubber suit monster type movies anymore??

There Will Be Blood.
Caught a members only,free pre-release screening today at The Picturehouse in good old Greenwich.Easily the best film I’ve seen in 12 months.D D-L gives us a superb performance.It kicks No Country For Old Men out of the ballpark IMHO.

Flicking through the TV channels in the early hours of the morning,I stumbled across a film that could have come straight from Steve’s DVD shelf.First Man Into Space,an old black and white film from 1959 tells the story of what went wrong to a test pilot trying to beat an altitude record.It includes footage of Chuck Yeager’s X-1,a Super Connie landing at night and a couple of Super Sabers(but I stand to be corrected on the Super Sabers).This is a fair to middling,man in a rubber-monster suit B movie and passed an enjoyable 76 minutes.

More to the point, is there a NEED to remake Bullitt? Surely not, apart from the obvious?

Ide like to think that one day big screen actors would one day work for profit share in a low cost movie,if not just to show us thier talent.

Kevin Spacey has been doing just that for the past few years since he moved to London whilst working for his favorite theatre and Pacino has also done his bit over the years working for “cost”.
Back to topic…..Do we want a remake of Bullitt?
