Is that a Lancaster nose on the far left ?
yes flat 12×2, I was dead serious when I made the comment. Sites such as these are worth a (re-)dig!
i went there 10 years ago, with permission from C/O defo worth a look, and thats not the only part of the site thats interesting 😉
Thanks for the link on the Seabee yoke, Fly.Buy. A very attractive aircraft with a nice James Bond connection. A good excuse to build a model one too! Once aloft have an excellent site as a resource but the prices are quite exciting.
I’ve just got another SAMM type grip, but this time with a Hebrew label and an 84 date stamp. A peek on Wikipedia suggests late Kfir.
is this the same as the one you sold me Ian :).. if so, now i know what sort of thumb lever i need, and trigger .. any ideas where i could find one ?
Certainly interested in the whirly panel , thanks for the heads up ,
is the old varsity T1 still in the undergrowth ?
thanks for the link FLY.BUY .. its a bit out of my price range at mo ..lovely looking piece though, thanks for sharing
I wish I had bought or acquired parts from the fire dump varsity at Bristol when I had a chance , being its one that was Allways there for years that I used to see regularly when I looked across the airport whenever I used to visit or take a flight for holiday
Ian , I guess your right , the heady days of the mid 90s are long gone , I just posed the question as it seemed to be of a type not as coveted like say EE Lightning parts . And as such wondered if parts from aircraft not as popular as fighters etc Idid wonder if parts were easier to locate , with prices that are not sky high , I will keep my nose to the ground and keep searching I’ve got a few British instruments to start with , and just keep looking , the thing I like about the varsity and Viking etc is that they were used in civilian and RAF service in the 1950s / 60s for me the golden age of aviation 🙂 , thanks for your helpful information runway , you’ve convinced me to keep on track , it might even pay to look at other countries that used these types , as there might be parts to be found there 🙂
Get well soon Moggy , sorry to hear about your prang ,
its not your old Varsity Stb Panel from RAF Catterick is it “Phantom Phil ” ??
Ive got one the same from a lost Meteor that came down in the Peak district that was given to me, Looks Identical
if I had a idea what it was from, i would be very motivated to restore it
No one has a Idea then ??.. I really am baffled.. you would think a EEP (English Electric Panel) would be easy to find out ??.. obviously its not ??.. anyone out there got a idea ??
not sure about that one, due to the control stick hole on the bottom, its proper got me confused
if I had a idea what it was from, i would be very motivated to restore it
