Some pictures taken one evening during the BoB filming at Duxford – we were at an ROC camp nearby and managed to talk our way in for a look around.

You were a lucky young fella Dave!

    cheers,

I like teaching my kids about aviation…………

This morning I pointed to a photo of a Harrier in a book and asked four year old Rebecca “what’s this plane Rebecca?”…… she just glanced at it and replied “Harrier”………. my wife was not as amused as I! (she was out last night when I showed Rebecca a whole book about Harriers; I pointed to each photo and said “that’s a Harrier”!);)

    cheers,

My Norwegian wife just does not find it as funny as I do!

    Hi Ben,

sorry, the only parts for Harriers I have are my control stick from XW268 and an altimeter from XZ146, as you can probably guess Harrier parts are a bit scarce over here in Norway!

Here’s an original ‘Hawker Siddeley Photo News’ photo I have of XW270 in better times………

    Hi John

You will be pleased to hear this Harrier T4N still exists. It can be found at the Norwich Aircraft Museum, and is owned by a friend of mine Dan Lander.

Being a trainer it had two columns, so maybe the front is a different design to the rear?

    I’ll put you in touch.

….oh, and by the way it currently doesn’t have either columns!

    Hi David,

yes, I think it might have had a GR.1/GR.3 type grip in the front, and the other grip type in the rear. I’d like to see photos of other T.4 aircraft and see if they have the same grips in both crew positions.

I have a lot of photos of XW268 at Norwich Aircraft Museum both external and internal views, not so nice to look at after seeing this lovely aircraft in it’s ‘better days’! (I try not to look at them! );)

Here’s all the history I have on XW268…… so far…….

We had the same school uniforms as Ian Old above at Highgate Hill British Army school in KL.And that special chocolate milk was called ´Milo´ -still available and still tasted the same when mixed with susu lembu back in 1988

    Hi SMS88,

Just a little on ‘Milo’; most aussies drink it as kids and many (like me) still drink it as adults! Unfortunately Milo is not sold in Norway 🙁

Milo ( /maɪləʊ/) is a milk beverage with chocolate and malt, produced by Nestlé and originating from Australia. It was developed by Thomas Mayne in 1934.

    http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b74/milorgman/180px-CanofMilo.jpg

Milo is also manufactured in other countries, including Malaysia (accounting for 90% of worldwide consumption of Milo, Singapore, China, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, New Zealand, Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Africa, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Chile, Colombia, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Papua New Guinea and Syria. The name derives from the famous Greek athlete Milo of Crotona, after his legendary strength.
