That is my point – nothing to discuss negative or otherwise…
Don’t start a thread about it then.
Charlie – in short, though I assume you already know a bit of this, Ken Ward scraped together a collection of cockpits somewhere in the North of England. That appears to be the only redeeming quality about somebody who appears to be a fairly disgusting human being.
In short, Renowned military historian Kenneth Ward, 67, was jailed for five years in 2011 after it was revealed he had persistently terrorised his neighbour Mandy Dunford, 54, by following her around her small holding on the North Yorkshire Moors, dressed only in his socks and boots. 6 Apr 2015
Note that he was jailed, so this isn’t just idle gossip.

But please let’s ALL reframe from making any negative comment on here, people can make up there own minds I am sure.
Then what is left to discuss? I doubt I’m going to develop a better and more balanced view of Mr. Ward from watching a Channel 5 documentary!

The Facebook consensus is that it is from 1916. I saw people get quite worked up about it!

I saw a dive video from Peenemunde on Youtube a couple of years ago. At the end of the video the divers displayed their spoils on the grass, which included objects that looked a little like human bones. I cannot find that video any more. One of the engines, complete with needle prop, is in the museum at Peenemunde. Apparently there is a lot of DV202 scattered around the area.

KB999 in Canada
A slightly academic post, as all of those crashed and are still in situ, rather than suffering a series of missteps and misfortunes at the hands of collectors.
When was the last time anybody actually saw KB999?
I agree. I just think that as a race, the Americans have more interest in recent cultural history than we do, as it is perhaps seen as more relevant.
I once read an interesting quote; To an American, 100 years is a long time. To a European, 100 miles is a long distance.
The idea that paperwork can somehow govern if a man can shoot a lion or not seems somewhat farcical. For me it seems like a strange andout-of-touch means by which the dentist is explaining away his actions. The simple truth is that he enjoys game hunting with a flair for downing large and/or dangerous animals. His odd hobby has been covered Internet wide, and his go to excuse is that he thought the paperwork was in order? Nutter.
Then again, the need for geometrically perfect, unnaturally white teeth seems a bit unhealthy in my view and, at worst, seems to not be too far removed from the eugenics movement. Anybody who caters to such a need, rather than providing dentistry for health reasons, already profits of vanity and is therefore a little morally suspect. Leonard Nimoy and Donald Sutherland are two actors who stumped up for posh veneers and ruined their diction as a result. Was it worth it? Both became a little sibilant as a result; Sutherland in The Eagle and Nimoy in Star Trek Into Darkness.

OK humor us.. which ones??
Probably a slightly outdated memory of static outdoor Lancs in Canada. KB882 springs to mind. The irony being that KB976 flew from Canada to the UK and returned to the US in shipping crates. :stupid:
Clearly not as interested (£££) as Kermit, who also had to stump up the cost of shipping the thing.
Post accident, why did the Lanc get spread so far and wide? The section at Aeroventure looks a bit desperate.
Exactly.
I don’t think it would have been scrapped in the 80s…
The ’80s saw the loss of both the last Vulcan B1 and the last Shackleton MR1, and other historic airframes have been lost since. Granted these aircraft don’t have the gravitas of the Lanc, especially back then, but never say never.
Apparently the aircraft is only five years old, so why does it have 60s upholstery?
