    RE: Cyprus Airways A330

About Cyprus Airways to the CIS,they only serve Moscow. However, there is another Cypriot airline serving these destinations with the Bac 1-11.There must be other airlines such as Ukraine International and numerous charters from this region of the world to Cyprus also.

Batboy, thanks for the information. I know when I fly from LGW-GCI we always fly over the IOW so,yes you must get some interesting flights flying over in the summer. As for the Bournemouth-Bembridge flights,i’ve looked on the Le Cocqs website and there is nothing about it.I’m presuming then that they’ve been suspended.

Also, isn’t the max cruising height for the Shorts 6,000ft?

Batboy, do you get the Le Cocqs Trislander/Islander flying over from ACI and JER to Bournemouth? Also I am lead to believe Le Cocqs operate the Trislander on a sunday from Bournemouth to Bembridge on pleasure flights.

    RE: India gets budget airline

Well I think a country the size of India needs a low cost airline, although changing people’s attitudes towards them is an obvious hardship. I think this airline is relatively small only operating the Dash 8, so it’s not exactly going to make a big impact on the Indian market yet. However, it is a step in the right direction.

    RE: Carry on luggage.

If the luggage is only small, why don’t you place the hand luggage under the seat?I do that when I fly.

They could never get rid of the Trislanders on the Alderney route? Its the only commercial aircraft that can fly into there that I know of.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 28-11-02 AT 07:14 PM (GMT)]Right I will give you some details on the Shorts 360.
Aurigny have had three leased Shorts 360 since 1990.G-OAAS was the first, then came G-BVMX and today we have the ugly one which is G-BMLC.

G-OAAS stayed in the fleet for around 9 years I think, however, when it’s contract ended, it was replaced in 1999 by G-BVMX (ex-Gill). The current Shorts is G-BMLC leased from Flying Enteprises of Sweden, entering the fleet early 2001. I’m not sure when the contract for this ends but I suppose it would be the last Shorts to be in the fleet.
