RE: The Washington Sniper —- Death???
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 26-10-02 AT 11:31 AM (GMT)]They should definitely face the death penalty if found guilty of the sniper killings. What they have done is an act of barbarity and is inhuman.
However,I was watching the news earlier and it said that the younger of the two’s age is not correctly known. It is unclear whether he could face the death penalty in Maryland, which does not allow juveniles to be executed. There may discrepancies with his age, and he may be older than 17.
RE: AFM forum not working again!
It is strange. It won’t load on my AOL screen but on an internet explorer screen it will.
Yet another problem I have endured from AOL.Oh well,I will just have to keep to internet explorer.

RE: Which countries build the best cars and why?
I agree,German. They are built solid with accuracy and perfection. My parents used to have a Peouget 106 but it was full of rattles, which I think is a common problem with them.We now have a VW Golf and there has been no problems.

RE: United Airlines In Trouble.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 26-10-02 AT 10:35 AM (GMT)]I think they are cutting LHR-BOS.
Its bad news for these airports, but if bankruptcy looms then it needs to get rid of routes that are not generating enough passengers to sustain operations.
UA have looked at these routes and seen little prospect of them becoming profitable in the future, consequently it was best to just drop them.
For customers affected by these cuts, then obviously they will be served through UA’s Star Alliance partners.
RE: Some nice pics for you all!
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 26-10-02 AT 09:07 AM (GMT)]Fantastic pictures. That Swiss c/s has really grown on me.Simple yet sophisticated.
Again with the A330,thats the first picture of Qantas’i’ve seen. Are they going to be used on doestic or Asian routes?
Like the Air Tahiti Nui looks good as well!
RE: OneWorld/Skyteam Expansion?
What about Swiss?Any news on them in Oneworld?
RE: Heathrow should close!
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 25-10-02 AT 06:55 PM (GMT)]They are knocking down a considerable amount of homes to place the runway parallel to one of the two current runways though i’m not sure which one.
The new runway is only going to be a runway for short haul flights with the 737,A320,etc,so it doesn’t really free up a a great deal of slots.
RE: The Russian Civil Aviation Industry in shambles!
Only 3 aircraft? Its good that airlines are interested especially an airline like Royal Nepal who has turned to western aircraft in recent years for the major aircraft of their fleet (mainly 757s)
However, the fact that it is unlikely that you have a secured delivery date is a real put off to airlines wishing to buy the TU-204 aircraft. Then we get back to our main discussion. If more finance was to be given by the Russian government then we could see a success.
The TU-204 has been been delivered to over a dozen carriers now and is operated in 30 countries.I really do hope that other airlines will buy these aircraft and see their benefits compared to the 757 and A321.
For some of the comparisons see:

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 25-10-02 AT 03:19 PM (GMT)]When T5 comes along we are going to see some drastic changes at LHR in terms of the other terminals, which who knows, could produce an airport of world quality.
Manston I do not see as an option. It has the runway and the expansion area needed, but is extremely far from central London. Airlines operate into LHR because of its proximity to London. I don’t think it would be a popular choice. The Government doesn’t seem interested in Manston as shown by the plans for UK aviation. I see Manston’s job as a new cargo centre, nothing else.
I think we are going to keep LHR, another new international airport seems unlikely to me.
RE: low cost long haul?
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 25-10-02 AT 03:12 PM (GMT)]Laker was low cost…Freddy was the pioneer of low cost travel. To some extent thaty was what Virgin set out to br but I think its changed.
RE: AFM forum not working again!
Ok,thanks.I have never had trouble before so its strange.I do try to get on and sometimes I do,it’s just rare!
